Exciting Opportunity: We’re Hiring! Extra Inning Softball (EIS) — the nation’s #1 source for girls’ fastpitch softball coverage (ages 8–18) — is expanding! We’re hiring a Digital Content Coordinator (Contractor) to help manage, format, and publish content on our digital platforms as we continue to grow our coverage of the game and its players nationwide.

We are a women-led, athlete-driven organization built on faith, family, and integrity. We welcome applicants who share our mission to empower, inspire, and support female athletes — regardless of gender or background.

Application Deadline: November 7, 2025 (5:00 p.m. MT)
Target Start Date: November 17, 2025 or January 5, 2026 — whichever works best for the applicant.

What You’ll Do

• Format and publish stories in WordPress following the Extra Inning Softball Editorial and SEO Checklist.

• Proofread and organize content, applying tags, categories, internal links, alt text, and images for SEO optimization and visual appeal.

• Collaborate with writers, contributors, and leadership to ensure each story reflects EIS standards for accuracy, tone, and presentation.

• Use editorial tools to help refine, format, and finalize articles under team guidance.

• Schedule and organize content within the EIS editorial calendar.

• Communicate clearly with the editorial team to ensure timely publication and brand consistency.

• Balance efficiency with detail: work quickly in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.

• Contribute creative input to improve story quality, reader engagement, and workflow efficiency.

Experience working with WordPress is a bonus, but not required — full training will be provided on SEO, formatting, and publication through our platform.

Schedule & Work Environment

As a contractor, you’ll have the flexibility to set your own hours.
We recommend weekday availability (Monday through Friday) to stay aligned with the EIS editorial schedule.

Weekend work is optional and at your discretion, though there may be rare occasions when event coverage or time-sensitive content is needed.

We maintain a strict editorial calendar and produce stories weeks in advance to protect weekends and family time.

What You Bring

• Education: Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as:

  • Journalism

  • Communications

  • English

  • Media Studies

  • Marketing

  • Sports Management

  • Public Relations
    (A master’s degree in a related field is a plus but not required.)

• Softball Background: Collegiate-level playing experience is strongly preferred.

• Strong communication and collaboration skills in a remote environment.

• Exceptional attention to detail in formatting, proofreading, and organizing digital content.

• Tech comfort and adaptability — you’re confident learning WordPress, SEO tools, and other online platforms.

• Reliable time management and organization skills to meet deadlines and maintain accuracy.

• Positive, mission-driven mindset — you want to be part of a purpose-based team making an impact in softball media.

Contract Details

• Type: Independent Contractor (1099)

• Compensation: Competitive; based on experience and workload

• Work Location: Remote (U.S.)

• Schedule: Flexible; weekday availability recommended with optional weekend coverage
