This Summer (specifically, July 2021) we released our first Extra Inning Softball-produced Extra Elite 100 Yearbook honoring those players who were ranked during the 2020 calendar year (this covers the Classes of 2021 through 2025).
We asked a small panel of players who were featured in the Yearbook and received their copy to share their feedback—this quartet included:
- Ashley Wolfe, 2023 Extra Elite 100, of St Louis Chaos;
- Sydni Burko, 2024 Extra Elite 100, with Beverly Bandits;
- Ramsey Montgomery, 2023 Extra Elite 100, of Vexus Burns
- Darien McDonough, 2021 Extra Elite 100, signed with Boston College and a member of Rhode Island Thunder
Their answers to what they liked and would hope to see added to future editions are below.

What was your favorite feature of the Yearbook?
- My favorite part of the yearbook is the layout and how the numbers are faded into each persons write-up. – Ashley Wolfe, 2023 Extra Elite 100, St Louis Chaos
- Pictures because you can get a feel for the player personalities. – Sydni Burko, 2024 Extra Elite 100, Beverly Bandits
- My favorite features are the action shots in the beginning of the book. It is fun to look at all the players from all over the US playing and enjoying the game of softball. I also like the bios about each player 1-100. – Ramsey Montgomery, 2023 Extra Elite 100, Vexus Burns
- I liked how there were tons of photos of players with their names underneath. – Darien McDonough, 2021 Extra Elite 100, signed with Boston Bollege, played for Rhode Island Thunder
If we make another Yearbook, what ideas should we keep?
- I like how it was separated by year, similar to a school yearbook. – Darien
- Keep individual pictures and bios. – Sydni
- If you make another yearbook? Umm, no – this needs to be every year. No discussion about that! — Ashley
- I love the yearbook; it is exciting to see all the hard work paying off with this great honor. – Ramsey
In the future Yearbook(s), what changes do you recommend?
- Have more pages of candid photos of the players because it’s fun looking at them. I liked the write-ups on each ranked player as well – Darien
- Offer an individual class yearbook and more photos or players. – Sydni
- The only change I would make is using a headshot but also a quote from each player about what softball means to them. – Ramsey
- Don’t change a thing. Make it the same so you know what to expect every year. Plus, if you are younger all your books will be the same which is cool. Hard cover is perfect! – Ashley

Do you prefer we create a Yearbook that encompasses all the ranked classes or one that is broken into classes?
- I like both ideas, maybe offer a choice of either one. – Sydni
- I like seeing all the classes but I understand this is expensive and time consuming. – Darien
- I like seeing all of the classes because we are going to play some of the other athletes in college and it’s fun to look back and see other top athletes you were playing against. It would take away from the whole idea. — Ashley
- I would like to see a single class yearbook that costs less. – Ramsey
What other thoughts or ideas for future editions?
- Maybe do a separate book of just positions. — Ashley
- I was so excited to see my action shot in the book and now everyone can enjoy the excitement with me. – Ramsey
- I like the hard cover of the book and the color pages. – Darien
- I think the yearbook is a great idea! – Sydni
