This week saw the Class of 2021 get “officially contacted” by college coaches as Sunday, Sept. 1 was the first official day of the contact period.
We did see some significant movement starting last Sunday up til now… for example, several elite 2021’s who were uncommitted did get calls, texts and emails as early as midnight heading into Sunday morning!
And some top players did commit on Sunday; for example, two standouts with the Windermere Wildfire wrote us to say they pulled the trigger:
* Jadeyn Ruszkowski, a 2021 first baseman on the Wildfire-Paulson team, wrote us to say: “I committed to Clemson on Sept. 1” and here’s her Tweet to prove it!
So excited to announce I have verbally committed to Clemson to further my education and softball career! Thank you to everyone who has helped me along the way, especially my family, Wildfire family, and coaches, I wouldn’t be here without you all!! GO TIGERS 🧡💜 #wildfirenation pic.twitter.com/NbKKnvhCYT

Her teammate, Olivia Liparia, also committed on the first day she could talke to college coaches. The 2021 middle infielder with the Wildfire wrote us saying:
“I was blessed to commit September 1 to UTC (Tennessee-Chattanooga). I had other opportunities, however, I felt like UTC is a good fit for me academically and softball.”
Here’s her tweet sharing the good news:
I am extremely excited to announce that I have verbally committed to UT Chattanooga! Thank you to everyone who has helped me along the way, especially to my parents, coaches and Wildfire family for all of your support, I wouldn’t be here without you all! But it’s not just the juniors who have been recruited heavily recently–one top East Coast club coach told us:
“It is very interesting that we have had more movement in the last couple weeks on 2020’s as (college) coaches said they were settling things out for the ’20’s (to prepare for September 1) than we had movement on our 2021’s on Sept. 1.”
Currently, we have almost 4,100 players in the latest version of the Extra Inning Softball Signing/Verbal Database including new updates regarding ACC, Big 12 and Pac-12 schools among many others.
If you want to get your favorite player in the database, instructions are listed here…
