Extra Inning Softball Welcomes Regan Weekly as Assisting Editor/Rankings Coordinator

Welcoming Regan Weekly, former Dartmouth Softball player and a Gatorade Player of the Year.

We are thrilled to welcome Regan Weekly as the new Assisting Editor/Rankings Coordinator at Extra Inning Softball.

Regan graduated from Dartmouth College this past June, earning her bachelor’s degree in English and Creative Writing. She competed on the school’s softball team in the Division I Ivy League Conference for two years.

Prior to her time at Dartmouth, Regan was a three-time Division II Class A TSSAA State Champion for The King’s Academy in Seymour, Tenn., which was ranked #23 nationally on Max Preps for all levels in 2017.

During her time as a Lady Lion, she was named to the All-District, All-Region, and All-State teams (2015-2019); awarded the title of District Player of the Year (2017); ranked multiple times on the FloSoftball Top 100 (2015-2018); and was named an All-American twice (2017, 2018).

Additionally, Regan was the 2019 Tennessee Gatorade Player of the Year for softball. She had an outstanding senior year at The King’s Academy and finished her high school career with 34 home runs, a batting average of .522, 106 extra base hits, 212 RBIs, 61 stolen bases, and a fielding percentage of .968.

Regan high-fiving her father and coach, Marc Weekly, after hitting a home run.

Regan sees the game of softball through the eyes of a student and always has—she believes mechanics, consistency, and one’s willingness to explore different ways of doing things are the key attributes to an elite softball player. These core values served her well throughout her career and she is excited to bring the same approach to reporting on the sport at Extra Inning.

Leveraging impeccable copyediting skills gained through her editorial experience at FTI Consulting with her lifelong exposure and involvement with the game across all levels—from recreational league to club ball, high school, recruiting, college, and post-playing—Regan aims to provide a fresh perspective to sports journalism that better voices the incredible stories of today’s players and organizations, having herself been among them not too long ago.

She will aide our team in producing well-written, consistent, and engaging content that celebrates the lives of the girls and women that dedicate so much of themselves to the game of softball.
