“I’m thrilled to join the staff at Extra Inning Softball and help to promote and grow this great game,” Roger said this week. “Having experienced softball at all levels, I have a deep appreciation for the sport and aim to provide our audience with a unique perspective that highlights the player beyond the field.”

McAfee brings an extensive softball background to his role having worked previously at USA Softball in addition to having worked in media relations at the Division I, II and III levels of classification.

Additionally, he served as the press conference moderator at the Women’s College World Series for four years.

“The game of softball is great due to not only the product on the field, but more importantly the stories of the people who compete at the club, high school, collegiate and professional levels. My goal is to tell those stories with a personal touch, which will bring our audience closer to the game.”

His tenure in athletic communications included stints at Coppin State University, Albright College, Minot State University, Cleveland State University, the University of Idaho and the American Volleyball Coaches Association.
