Extra Inning Softball’s National Club Player & Club Team of the Week – June 25, 2019

Our Extra Inning Softball National Club Player & Team of the Week results saw the Texas Glory dominate at its own tournament last week and produce a huge individual performance by a player headed to a Big 12 team.

Team-wise, a 14U powerhouse team continues to roll with a 33-1-1 record including a big tournament run last week at the America’s Fastpitch Classic…

National Club Player of the Week:

* Haidyn Sokoloski, a 2022 infielder with the Texas Glory 14U – Naudin team, had a huge weekend helping her team win the inaugural Texas Glory Summer Shootout last weekend.

The Oklahoma State commit was a key figure in leading her squad coached by Mariah Montgomery to a 7-0 mark as the freshman started all seven games and batted .588 (10-for-17) with four home runs and an impressive 19 RBIs which gave her a 1.353 slugging percentage and a 1.932 OPS for the event.

Haidyn was selected as a Top 30 pick in the 2022 Extra Elite 100 and was voted this year as the Dallas/Ft. Worth All-Metro Plex Freshman of the Year.

The 18U and 16U teams also made it to the Shootout championship games—the 18U team had to leave tied 1-1 with the Oklahoma Athletics after 7 innings to catch a plane to go to the World Fastpitch Championship.

Runner-Up National Player of the Week:

* Kyleigh Pitzer, a 2022 right-handed pitcher for the Diamond Sports Hotshots Platinum Alabama team was outstanding in the circle and at the plate last week.

Kyleigh threw five complete games—all wins—and had 52 K’s with only five hits and two runs allowed in the Eastern Elite Showcase.

Three of her five wins were shutouts and in the championship game she threw a perfect game with eight strikeouts.

Kyleigh also hit 8-for-12 in the tournament with six RBIs, a home run and three doubles.

National Club Team of the Week:

The Tennessee Mojo 14U – Fisher team continues to shine this year, running its record to 33-1-1 overall after going 7-0-1 at America’s Fastpitch Classic.

The Mojo had wins over Indiana Magic, St. Louis Chaos, Illinois Chill, East Cobb Bullets – Mayfield, TN Mojo – Danley and in the championship game beat the Bullets again 4-3.

Said Coach Fisher: “All 13 kids on the team contributed to the win!”

The Mojo were selected as the top-ranked team in the Extra Elite Eighty Club Rankings for the 14U age group and has seven players going to the SEC.

How to Submit Information:

Each week during the summer, Extra Inning Softball will recognize a National Club Player & National Club Team of the Week.

Those honored will typically be announced on Tuesdays.

The cutoff for submitting the nominations for Player & Team of the Week will be Mondays at 10 pm EST/7 pm PST.

NOTE: the player submitted does NOT have to be on the team submitted.

National Club Player of the Week Criteria

Individually, we’re looking for standouts who excelled in the circle, at the plate or in the field so be sure to nominate your favorite performance(s) by submitting the following:

• Player Name
• Grad Year (example: Class of 2019 or Senior)
• Position(s)
• Club team name with city/state
• Stats for the week (be as detailed as possible!)
• Up-to-date season stats if possible
• Recruiting information if applicable
• Any interesting background on the player
• Action and/or head shots
• If possible, contact info if we’d like more info or quotes

National Club Team of the Week Criteria

Teams of all divisions–18U down to 10U–to be considered should include the following:

• Team name
• Age division
• Head coach
• Week’s record
• Where played (event/tournament)
• Key wins (championship win, for example)
• Standout player performances as applicable
• Team or key player photo (if available)
