In our recently completed 2023 Extra Elite 100 player rankings, Olivia Duncan—the 5-foot-11 lefty pitcher from Georgia—was ranked as a Top 5 overall player.
Throwing in the mid-to-high 60’s, Olivia is a player we’ve had on our radar for several years; we profiled her a year and a half ago in a feature titled Olivia Duncan… Why She’d Have Monica Abbott Play Her in a Movie.
The incoming sophomore had another great summer, average 1.5 K’s per inning and a sub-1.00 ERA. Certainly, she’s talented on the field, but Olivia is quite the artist off of it.
Her eclectic tastes include a passion for 1970’s music and collecting vinyl records and her favorite way to unwind is painting, which she excels at.
“For as long as I can remember, I’ve always loved painting and drawing,” Olivia says. “When I was little, I would spend more time coloring and drawing than I did playing with toys. Other than softball, art has always been one of my favorite things to do.”
Here are some samples of her work:
Olivia: “This is a watercolor painting I did during quarantine.”
*****
Olivia: “This is an ink pen drawing I did of Jerry Garcia from Grateful Dead. I used the same pen throughout the entire thing.”
*****
Olivia: “I’ve been working on this mural in my room for a very long time now. I work on it in my down time when I am not playing softball, which is why it has taken so long. There is still a lot of wall not seen in this picture that needs to be done, it’s a work in progress.”

When not drawing or painting, the 2023 standout is also one of the most coveted pitchers in the travel ball world.
Here’s more on her on-field accomplishments and more “color” to the person she is off of it….
