WACO, Texas – Baylor softball released its full slate for the 2024 season, including 26 home games at Getterman Stadium, announced by 24th-year head coach Glenn Moore.
Putting together a strong schedule, the Bears will play at least 28 games against 13 opponents from the 2023 NCAA softball tournament.
BU opens the 2024 season at home against Tennessee in the Getterman Classic. The Bears will play a three-game series against the WCWS participant from last season on Feb. 9-11.
The Bears will then head on the road for the rest of February, including a trip to Louisiana and Palm Springs.
Baylor will make a pitstop in Lake Charles, La., to face McNeese on Feb. 15, before heading to Lafayette for a three-game series against the Ragin’ Cajuns. The Bears will face Louisiana from Feb. 16-18 at Yvette Girouard Field at Lamson Park.
Next up, BU will head to Palm Springs, Calif., to compete in the Mary Nutter Classis for the first time since the 2022 season. The Bears will first face Notre Dame and Oregon on Feb. 22, before meeting up with UC Riverside on Feb. 23. To close out the tournament, Baylor will play UCLA and Missouri on Feb. 24.
Opening the March slate, Baylor will return home to face Morgan State on March 2-3 in the Baylor Invitational. BU will play Morgan State for three games in a doubleheader on Saturday and a series finale on Sunday.
Baylor will next travel to Huntsville, Texas, for a midweek contest against Sam Houston on March 5, before returning home to open conference play.
The Bears will open conference play this year against Oklahoma State from March 8-10 at Getterman Stadium. With the addition of UCF, Houston and BYU to the conference, the Bears will play 27 total conference games this season.
BU will stay home to face Wisconsin in a midweek doubleheader on March 12, before heading on the road again.
Continuing conference play, the Bears will face the Jayhawks in Lawrence, Kan., March 15-17.
Baylor will return home for a quick midweek matchup against Houston Christian on March 19 before heading on the road again to face the reigning WCWS champions.
BU will face off against the Oklahoma Sooners March 22-24 in Norman, Okla., after handing the Sooners their only loss of the 2023 season in a non-conference matchup. This season marks the first time in two years that the Bears and Sooners aren’t meeting first in a non-conference matchup.
Finishing up the March contests, Baylor will host Iowa State in a three-game conference series on March 28-30.
The Bears will then face non-conference foe Texas State on April 3 in San Marcos, Texas, before continuing conference play at home against Texas Tech on April 5-7.
Continuing down I-35, BU with clash with UTSA on April 9 in San Antonio before a split home-and-home series against the Longhorns. The Bears will host Texas on April 12, before making the short drive to Austin to finish the series on April 13-14.
In a four-game homestand, the Bears will host UT Arlington on April 16, before a three-game conference battle against UCF from April 19-21.
Closing out the April slate, BU will head to Utah, first facing the Utes in a midweek matchup on April 24 in Salt Lake City, before heading south to face new Big 12 opponent BYU April 25-27 in Provo.
Baylor closes out the regular season with Houston May 3-5 at home.
The Big 12 tournament is set for May 8-11 in Oklahoma City. NCAA Regionals begin a week later, followed by the NCAA Super Regionals. The Women’s College World Series will be May 30-June 7 in Oklahoma City.
