This Monday, June 12, 2021, we begin our look at the Extra Inning Softball High School All-American team and will list the honorees by position according to the following schedule:
EXTRA INNING SOFTBALL ALL-AMERICAN TIMELINE
- Monday, July 12 – Extra Inning Softball 1st Team All-Americans (Pitchers)
- Tuesday, July 13 – Extra Inning Softball 1st Team All-Americans (Catchers)
- Wednesday, July 14 – Extra Inning Softball 1st Team All-Americans (Infielders)
- Thursday, July 15 – Extra Inning Softball 1st Team All-Americans (Outfielders)
- Friday, July 16 – Extra Inning Softball 1st Team All-Americans (Multi-Purpose)
- Monday, July 19 – Extra Inning Softball 2nd Team All-Americans
- Tuesday, July 20 – Extra Inning Softball High School Player of the Year
- Wednesday, July 21- Extra Inning Softball High School Coach of the Year
As we mentioned in our previous articles, those chosen across the country will be selected based on these criteria:
- accomplishments, stats and honors
- importance in the success of the team
- on-field abilities, skills & talent
- off-the-field resume, i.e. academic success, community involvement, etc.
We often get asked what’s an example of an All-American and what does she do that impresses on and off the field?
Certainly, next week’s unveiling of top high schoolers will give many great examples, but one that comes to mind is a player from a small town about 25 miles north of Sacramento, California.
We did a spotlight on her two years ago listing 10 Fun Facts and her resume is even stronger today…. here’s a closer look at this talented player with comments and info provided by her club coach, Paulie Gabales….
