What Does Watchlist Wednesday Recognition Mean?

Watchlist Wednesday provides an early introduction to athletes who have been nominated for an upcoming Extra Inning Softball rankings cycle.

Being featured gives families, coaches and the fastpitch community an opportunity to become familiar with nominated players before official rankings are released.

However, a Watchlist Wednesday feature does not guarantee regional or national ranking placement.

SERV™ Methodology

Each nominated athlete is evaluated through Extra Inning Softball’s SERV™ Methodology — Software, Evaluate, Research and Verify.

The Rankings Committee considers multiple factors, including verified statistics, tournament strength, level of competition, positional ability, measurable skills, accomplishments and overall performance.

Athletes are evaluated on their complete body of work, rather than one tournament, statistic or individual performance.

And when the rankings are finalized, there are no ties. Every ranked athlete earns her own distinct placement.

  • One nomination per athlete is all that is necessary.
  • Athletes must be officially nominated to be considered for rankings.
  • Recommendations and Watchlist Wednesday features do not replace the official evaluation process.
  • Nominations close November 9, 2026.

The rankings process provides opportunities for athletes to receive recognition for their accomplishments, development and competitive performance.
