Gerritt Griggs has loved the game as long as she can remember.
The shortstop for the Southern Force—Palmer comes from a very athletic family, with her parents and uncles all being former collegiate softball and baseball players. While being bounced on her parents’ legs, her older brother would even join in on softball cheers to make Gerritt laugh, singing “Gerritt, Gerritt oh, oh, hit that ball Gerritt.”
Growing up, Gerritt spent her time playing wiffle ball in the yard with her family until she was old enough to join a little league team and play baseball, which she remembers being her first love.
