I wanted to reach out to you and tell you about me and my softball journey.
I have been playing since I was 5 years old in Vegas. My parents started bringing me to California every week to play at a higher level and that’s where I was discovered by Marty Tyson.
I started playing on a Corona Angels team with Felton Ollison and my dad was able to get me a hitting lesson with Marty after weeks of persistence. Marty had told me I had a powerful swing but needed to change everything about it. Haha!
Well, I’ve been learning his system and hitting with him every Friday since I was 12 years old. I still play for the Angels—I was on Marty’s 14U team—and now I am coached by Dena Slye, working and grinding to get picked for his 18U Gold team when I am a senior.
I play high school ball at Arbor View High in Las Vegas under the coaching of LeaAnn Jarvis. We had no sophomore season due to COVID, but my freshman year was amazing!
Marty’s hitting style has been really good for me: I had 13 home runs in my freshman season, 70 RBIs and I was the second athlete at Arbor View to ever hit a home run out of the park, which is 290-feet deep. I also made the MaxPreps All-American team as a freshman.
For high school, I am the starting third baseman and for the Angels, I play outfield. I love being able to play multiple positions. We have over 20 girls on our roster and are taught the mindset of competing for playing time. This concept has made me very successful both mentally and physically.
My story is not unique. I know so many players who sacrifice so much for the love of the game… but my story is worth telling.
When my Vegas friends are going to birthday parties and getting together, I am traveling to California every weekend for practice, lessons and games. I put in a lot of work in the garage with my Dad for hitting, and conditioning workouts, fielding and boxing!
Softball is who I am. It identifies me and I am so grateful for the sacrifices my parents have made to get me where I am today.
Recruiting has been a different path than expected. First, the NCAA changed the rules for commits and then COVID hit… still, I have high hopes!

What is something you have faced in your life that has helped you become the person that you are today?
My father. He is the one person who I can depend on no matter what and he encourages me to be a great athlete on a day-to-day basis. He tells me stories from his past, talking about how he missed his opportunities to go big in basketball. One of the reasons why I want to go big is to make him proud. I want to reach my dreams since he wasn’t able to. This is a big part of why I am the way I am today.
