BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic University softball team has announced its 2024 schedule. Head coach Jordan Clark will lead the Owls as she enters her second year at the helm of the program. The season kicks off on February 8th against Marshall.
“I am really excited to release the 2024 schedule. We have 55 regular season games scheduled against seven different regional and super regional teams from last season. We will be hosting three different home tournaments bringing in teams from the SEC, BIG10, Sun Belt, MAC, ACC and C-USA. We will also host the second annual Joan Joyce Invitational to honor the late Joan Joyce and the legacy she left at FAU.
We are going to be battle tested and challenged with this schedule, which should prepare us for our first season in the American Athletic Conference. “
The Owls’ season will begin at home for the first month with the Paradise Classic from Feb. 8-11, the first of three home back-to-back-back tournaments for Florida Atlantic. In between the Paradise Classic and the Joan Joyce Classic, the Owls will face North Florida in a mid-week game on Feb. 13. The Joan Joyce Classic will feature Louisville, Maine, and Seton Hall starting on Feb. 15 through Feb. 18. The Owls will then host Boston College, Rhode Island, Columbia, and FGCU in the Owl Classic from Feb. 22-25. The home stretch ends with a mid-week game against the Panthers of FIU on Feb. 28.
The Owls then travel to Arkansas to compete in the Woo Pig Classic hosted by Arkansas on Mar. 1-3. They will remain on the road for a mid-week matchup against Central Arkansas Mar. 5. The inaugural AAC series for the Owls will take place on the road when they face Wichita State as their first AAC opponent. UAB will be the first home conference series, March 15-17.
FAU’s final home series of the regular season will bring Tulsa to Boca Raton May 3-5. The American Athletic Championship Tournament will take place at Wilkins Stadium in Wichita, Kansas from May 8-11.
