Jordy Bahl Signs Autographs (A LOT of Them!) at 2023 PGF Nationals Opening Ceremonies!

PGF knows how to throw one heck of a party (ala their PGF Nationals Opening Ceremonies) and this summer’s events in Southern California were no exception.

On Monday, July 31, 2023, the Week 2 Opening Ceremonies for the 14U, 12U and 10U age divisions were held at Huntington Beach Central Park and featured everything from face painting, food trucks and clowns to a boy band and music by DJ Sparks.

One of the biggest highlights for the players and their families, however, was the autograph signings by Jordy Bahl, the accomplished pitcher who won a national championship earlier this year at the University of Oklahoma before transferring in June to play for her home-state Nebraska Cornhuskers for the next two years.

Jordy had a magical sophomore season in 2023 for the three-time National Champion Sooners as she compiled a 22-1 record with 192 K’s in 147.1 innings to repeat as a 1^st Team All-American. She was also named the Most Outstanding Player in the College World Series where she went 4-0 with a save and tossed 24.2 scoreless innings.

From Papillion, Neb., the current junior was quoted in a ClutchPoints article as saying:

“After two years of wonderful memories, I’m excited for two more representing the Nebraska Cornhuskers. This state, these people, and this ‘N’ are all things I’m excited, proud, and thankful to be a part of.”

So, do you think this accomplished college softball player might be a role model to younger athletes?

If you saw Jordyn at the PGF Nationals signing, you witnessed her totally at ease with the hundreds of younger players, smiling and signing papers, balls, hats and whatever her young fans presented to her.

And it makes you feel great as a fastpitch follower to know that this one college softball role model certainly lives up to the high expectations of her fans.
