After several exams, Lexi was admitted to the hospital, where a day of blood work, CT scans, and a spinal tap were performed to uncover the root cause of her sudden symptoms.

The doctors are exploring several possibilities, including antibodies, multiple sclerosis, and other potential conditions. Lexi’s doctors are working quickly to find answers and start treatment. During this time, Lexi’s strength and determination remain unwavering. Lexi has regained her sight and came home for Christmas!

Lexi’s recovery process has not been simple. The MRI process, essential to diagnosing the issue, proved difficult because of her cochlear implants. The head wrap necessary for the procedure caused her significant pain, but Lexi’s resolve hasn’t wavered. She is currently undergoing IV steroids, potential PLEX treatments, and more in an effort to restore her sight and find the cause of her symptoms.

Despite the challenges, Lexi has shown an incredible amount of mental and emotional strength.
