Medical News: Thoughts & Prayers Needed for Atlanta Viper 2026 Standout Jada Savage… In Hospital Minimum of 3 Weeks

Jovial, upbeat and amazingly talented, Jada Savage (left) is seen here laughing with her Vipers teammates before being hit by medical problems when playing in Colorado earlier this month.

Softball community: we would greatly appreciate your thoughts and prayers for one of the most promising young prospects in the sport who was hit suddenly and unexpectedly over the last week with an ailment that has all concerned.

Jada was ranked #9 in the 2026 Extra Elite 100 that was released in January.

Jada Savage is a 2026 pitcher for the Atlanta Vipers 07 Tamborra team and was ranked earlier this year as one of the Top 10 players in the 2026 Extra Elite 100. She also is projected to be the starting pitcher for the East Coweta High School JV team in Sharpsburg, Georgia.

Explains her Vipers coach, Stacy Tamborra: “Jada is the kind of player every coach wants on their team with an infectious smile and indescribable work ethic. She works almost every day to improve her game and pitches. Jada whole-heartedly loves the game of softball and her teammates.”

While in Colorado with the Vipers, Jada noticed some decrease in vision in her right eye but never let on to anyone that anything was going on. She was nonetheless impressive on the mound against some of the best teams in the country with, amazingly, only half of her vision.

When Jayda and her mom returned from Colorado last Monday morning, she was still complaining of a decrease in vision accompanied by a headache and pressure behind her eye.

On Tuesday, her mom took her to see an ophthalmologist who thought Jada had a tumor behind her eye. She was immediately taken to Scottish Rite Hospital in Atlanta where an MRI was done, and, fortunately, no tumor was found.

However, doctors did find some lesions on the brain although only one is active and a central line was placed in her neck to do a plasma transfer as the doctors found that her antibodies are attacking her body and could be causing the decrease in vision.

The plasma transfer will take up to 10 days to complete and they will replace Jada’s antibodies through the plasma transfer. With all the testing and procedures the athlete is going through, she will be in the hospital for a minimum of three weeks.

Adds Coach Tamborra: “This kind, big-hearted child with a smile that will warm anybody’s heart needs prayer warriors immediately. She has captured so many hearts around the softball world. Please join the Atlanta Vipers 07 Vipers in the fight for Jada!”
