Extra Inning Softball National High School Player of the Week
After an outstanding week in the circle and at the plate, Evan Smith has been selected as the Extra Inning Softball National High School Player of the Week. Smith plays for Southwest Christian School in Fort Worth, Texas.
Smith began the season in dramatic fashion as she tossed a no-hitter in helping lead Southwest Christian School to a victory. In 5.0 innings, Smith struck out 12 batters and did not walk a batter. She also helped her own cause at the plate by going 2-for-2 and drove in three runs.
Southwest Christian School then played a four-game timed tournament and Smith continued her dominance in the circle and at the plate.
The UNCW commit pitched 8.0 innings and recorded 17 strikeouts to lead the Southwest Christian School pitching staff.
She was equally as impressive at the plate as Smith went 7-for-11, belted two home runs and drove in eight runs.
