LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The National Fastpitch Coaches Association has announced 190 student-athletes from 123 programs have received 2023 NFCA High School Spring All-Region accolades.
The awards honor softball student-athletes from eight (Regions III through X) of the Association’s 10 regions with first- and second-team selections. NFCA member head coaches from each respective region voted on the teams. All student-athletes, including the 2022 Summer/Fall honorees, now become eligible for the 2023 NFCA High School All-America squads, which will be announced on July 13.
State champions Lake Creek High School (Texas) out of Region VI and Caravel Academy (Del.) from Region X topped the charts with five All-Region selections apiece. It marked the second and third straight state titles, respectively, for those programs.

The Lions, who finished 2023 as the No. 1 team in the USA Today Sports/NFCA High School Super 25 for the second straight season, matched Bend Senior High School (Ore.) from Region III with four first teamers. Two student-athletes from Carvel earned first-team honors.
Bend, Roncalli High School from Region VI and Donovan Catholic High School (N.J.) from Region IX each had four All-Region representatives. Donovan Catholic picked up three first-team plaudits with Roncalli earning two.
Twelve more programs landed three All-Region honors. Region III – Bingham High School (Utah) Kennewick High School (Wash.) and Timberline High School (Wash.) – and Region V – Antioch High School (Ill.), Barrington High School (Ill.) and Lemont High School (Ill.) – boasted a trio of selections. Region VII – West Rowan High School (N.C.) and South Stanly High School (N.C.) – and Region X – Mardela High School (Md.) and Woodland Regional High School (Conn.) had two nods each. Georgetown High School (Texas) and Morris Catholic High School (N.J) represented Regions VI and IX, respectively.
All three student-athletes from Mardela and Woodland Regional collected first-team awards with Barrington and Lemont having two apiece recognized as first teamers.
Six schools from Region IV captured two recognitions with both Huntington Beach High School student-athletes earning first-team honors. In all, 26 programs across the eight regions had two All-Region selections.
NFCA High School All-Region and All-America student-athletes must be nominated by their NFCA-member head coach. All-Region is voted on by their respective region’s member head coaches, and All-Americans are voted on by the entire high school membership. Additionally, in some instances, limited regional nominations prevented a position from being filled.

2023 Spring All-Region Teams
Celebrating 40 years in 2023, the NFCA is the professional organization for fastpitch softball coaches. Known for its highly-regarded All-Region and All-America awards, the NFCA also educates and supports softball coaches on a variety of different levels: from podcasts to a comprehensive drills database, to in-person events and a National Convention.
