Rankings News: Latest 2024 Extra Elite 100 Player Rankings Pushed Back a Week, to Start August 23, 2021

The upcoming launch of the 2024 Extra Elite 100 rankings — originally scheduled to begin this Monday (Aug. 16) — is being pushed back a week to August 23, 2021. Scroll down to see the updated schedule.

The reason, we think, is a valid one: club coaches are asking for more time to submit player nominations after finishing a busy summer of travel ball and many had missed the Aug. 1 deadline to provide info as they were on the road.

The Class of 2024 extensive coverage now will begin Monday, Aug. 23 and for the following three weeks after that date we will include:

• the 2024 Extra Elite 100 ranked prospects with bios and photos
• the players ranked #’s 101-500
• a spotlight on the top player in the class
• position rankings (pitchers, catchers, infielders, outfielders)

This follows the previous Extra Elite 100 rankings published this year and last for the Classes of 2021, ’22, ’23, ’24, ‘25 and ’26. The 2023 Extra Elite 100 rankings were the most recently published (May 2021).

Note: the next set of ratings after the 2024’s will be the final 2022 Extra Elite 100 class starting in October prior to the Signing Period.

The rankings are led by Brentt Eads, Extra Inning Softball’s President & Executive Editor, and the Extra Inning Softball staff with input from more than 250 college and club scouts and coaches.

Brentt, who originated the top 100 rankings lists used in softball, will now have ranked more than a decade of grad classes (2014 to 2026) and, with updates of each, will have done more than three dozen class rankings.

Or email us at [email protected] and send us the following (as applicable): player name, position(s), club team, school, home city/state, stats, honors, individual and team accomplishments, events attended such as camps, human interest insights (anything interesting, unusual or different) and a head shot (if available, a good action photo also).

Submit info no later than midnight EST Sunday, August 1st to ensure athletes are considered before the lists are finalized this weekend!
