This must have been one heck of a team… an elementary school basketball team!
Eight years ago, four future SEC softball commits—now who are Class of 2024 grads–all played hoops together at an elementary school in New Palestine, Indiana.

And they had their photo taken together when playing club softball.
Pictured in the photo above left to right: Allison Blum (committed to Kentucky), Lucy Dunn (uncommitted), Ella Trout (Georgia), Paige Earnest (Mississippi State) and Sara Phillips (Mississippi State).
The middle three in the photo—Lucy, Ella and Paige—were all teammates together on Indiana Edge.
Four of the five would go on to play middle school softball and basketball together and now, four of them will be playing college ball with and against each other in the SEC!

The 4th grade basketball team (front, l-r): Ella Trout, Ella Holman (Dayton commit ), Vivian Miller (holding basketball), Paige Earnest, Allison Blum and Lucy Dunn. Back row: Koryn Marshall and Sara Phillips.
Sara’s mother, Angela Phillips, who sent us the photos, remembers:
“We didn’t know then, when Sara guest played with Indiana Magic Gold (she was on the Birmingham Thunderbolts 05 team at the time), that this picture would mean so much eight years later.”
The proud softball mom concludes:
“They actually have one other basketball and middle school teammate, Ella Holman, who is committed to Dayton for softball who is not pictured in the softball on-field photo.”
“Crazy!”
