Players: Let’s Hear From You… Share With Us Your Stories of Overcoming Injuries (& What You Learned)!

Sadie Armstrong’s injury put her on the sidelines for several months earlier in her career, but today the outstanding 2024 Extra Elite 100 pitcher/utility player has committed to Longmont University in Virginia.
Working through injuries is no fun, but there are valuable lessons that can be learned by going through the recovery process!

As a softball player, injuries are often an inevitable part of the game.

Whether it’s a sprained ankle, a torn ligament or a concussion, injuries can be frustrating and debilitating.

However, the road to recovery can also be a transformative experience–emotionally and mentally as well as physically.

As part of our ongoing coverage of fastpitch softball, we want to hear from you players about your experiences recovering from injuries. If you’ve ever been injured while playing softball, we want to hear from YOU!

Share your story with us by sending an email to Extra Inning Softball at: [email protected] with the subject line “Recovering from Injury.”

In your email, please include the following:

  • Your Name
  • Graduation Class
  • Position(s)
  • Team Name
  • Coach Name
  • Type of Injury
  • How the Injury Occurred
  • Recovery process (e.g. physical therapy, surgery, rest, etc.)
  • The biggest challenge you faced during your recovery,
  • What you learned about yourself from the experience,
  • Who were your greatest supporters during your recovery period,
  • Advice you would like to give to other injured players,
  • Photos related to injury, action shot prior to injury, photos with team, coach, parents, doctor(s), physical therapist, or others who supported you through your journey.

We know that recovering from an injury can be a difficult and sometimes isolating experience, but we believe that sharing your story can be empowering and inspiring for other players who may be going through a similar experience.

By sharing your story, you can help others understand that they are not alone and that they too can overcome their injuries.

We look forward to hearing from you and sharing your stories with our readers. Let’s continue to support each other as we navigate the ups and downs of this great sport
