Extra Inning Softball shares new insights from its latest Dugout Discussion poll: “Do you think today’s players have more or less pressure than 10 years ago?” The answer was resounding. Over 93% of respondents said today’s athletes face more pressure. That number reflects a shift in how the game is played—not just between the lines, but outside them, too. Between the transfer portal, NIL deals, televised exposure, and the constant presence of social media, it’s clear that today’s softball environment demands more of athletes mentally, emotionally, and physically.
