Sooners Sign Eight in Leading Extra Inning Softball Recruiting Classes

Oklahoma, the three-time defending national champion, inked eight players on the first day of National Signing Day as head coach Patty Gasso has brought another outstanding class to Norman, Okla.

All eight of the Sooners players are ranked in the Extra Elite 100 led by Audrey Lowry who is ranked second in the 2024 class.

Texas Tech, LSU, Tennessee and Arkansas round out the top five teams in the rankings.

The SEC led the way with 10 schools finishing in the top 25 of the rankings followed by the ACC with six schools, the Big 12 with four and the Pac-12 and Big Ten with three each.

1 – Oklahoma

University of Oklahoma head coach Patty Gasso announced the addition of eight signees to the program’s 2024 recruiting class. Sydney Barker, Gabbie Garcia, Chaney Helton, Corri Hicks, Audrey Lowry, Kadey McKay, Tia Milloy and Riley Zache will join the Sooners as freshmen for the 2025 season. Oklahoma’s elite 2024 recruiting class features numerous all-conference, all-state and All-America honors, as well as state championships. All eight of the Sooners signees are ranked in the Extra Elite 100 2024 class, and all eight are ranked within the top 21 in the nation. Lowry is ranked second, Barker is fourth, Hicks is ranked seventh, Garcia is ranked eighth, Helton is 11th, McKay is ranked 14th, Milloy is 18th and Zache is ranked 21st.

2 – Texas Tech


Texas Tech head coach Craig Snider has announced seven additions to the program which became official on National Signing Day. The Red Raider signing class includes Brenlee Gonzales, Kiley Huffman, Cassie Johnson, Sam Lincoln, Bailey Lindemuth, Sydney Shiller, and Hailey Toney who will all join the program next fall. Snider brought in an outstanding class that features six players featured in the Extra Elite 100 rankings. Toney is ranked 10th overall, Lindemuth is ranked 11th, Lincoln and Johnson are ranked 17th, Gonzales is 22nd and Huffman is ranked 42nd.

3 – LSU


LSU head coach Beth Torina announced the signing of six student-athletes on 2023 Signing Day. The Tigers will welcome Zoe Calvez (Orlando, Fla.), Alix Franklin (St. Amant, La.), Destiny Harris (Norfolk, Va.), Jayden Heavener (Pace, Fla.), Sa’Mya Jones (Pearland, Texas) and Jada Phillips (Bradenton, Fla.) to Baton Rouge next fall. The Tigers 2024 signing class ranks No. 3 by Extra Inning Softball and has five signees in the Extra Elite 100. Phillips, Jones and Heavener are all tied for second in the Extra Elite 100 rankings, while Calvez is ranked ninth and Harris is ranked 10th.

4 – Tennessee


Tennessee head coach Karen Weekly has announced seven signees for the program’s 2024 recruiting class. The newest Lady Vols include Emma Clarke, Ella Dodge, Amayah Doyle, Saviya Morgan, Erin Nuwer, Zoie Shuler and Peyton Tanner. Rated as the No. 4 class in the nation by Extra Inning Softball, five players are featured in the top 10 of the Extra Elite 100 player rankings for the class of 2024. Tanner and Doyle come in at fourth and fifth, respectively, while Nuwer, Clarke and Morgan were tabbed seventh, eighth and 10th to round out Tennessee’s top-10 ranked players. Dodge was named the nation’s fourth-ranked utility player and also appears in the Elite 100 at No. 65.

5 – Arkansas


University of Arkansas head coach Courtney Deifel announced the addition of eight new Razorbacks on National Signing Day. The decorated class includes Payton Burnham, Ava Carter, Cameryn Harrison, Lexi King, Ella McDowell, Jayden Ramos, Ashtyn Reichardt and Ramsey Walker. The recruiting class is ranked No. 5 in the nation according to Extra Inning Softball. McDowell leads the Razorbacks class as she is ranked third in the Extra Elite 100 rankings. Harrison is ranked eighth, Walker is ranked 16th, Reichardt is 22nd and King is ranked 23rd.

6 – Georgia


University of Georgia head coach Tony Baldwin has announced the signing of seven student-athletes to the 2025 roster. The signing class includes infielder Paislie Allen, infielder/utility Precious Bross, infielder Tyah Charlton, utility Mollie Mitchell, right-handed pitcher Ella Troutt, utility Esther White, and catcher Mua Williams. The Bulldog recruiting class features five players ranked in the Extra Elite 100. Allen tops the list at No. 9 followed by Troutt and Williams at No. 14, White at No. 16 and Charlton at No. 21.

7 – Georgia Tech

Georgia Tech head coach Aileen Morales announced the signing of eight student-athletes to National Letters of Intent, which included six players ranked in the Extra Elite 100 rankings. Camden Anders (Valdosta, Ga.), Madison Furniss (Southington, Conn.), Kaya Booker (Alpharetta, Ga.), Tymber Harris (Vidalia, Ga.), Lillian Martineau (Harwinton, Conn.), Caroline Patterson (Macon, Ga.), Carter Wachtel (Wooster, Ohio) and Alyssa Willer (Bethlehem, Ga.) are the student-athletes who will join the Yellow Jackets in 2024-25. Patterson and Wachtel are tied for 13th in the Extra Elite 100, while Harris is ranked 26th, Booker is 33rd, Miller is ranked 59th and Anders is 81st.

8 – Florida


Florida head coach Tim Walton announced the additions of Gabi Comia, Layla Lamar, Katelynn Oxley, Taylor Shumaker and Townsen Thomas to the program during national signing day. The five additions to the program from the 2024 signing class hail from the states of Florida, California, Indiana, Texas and North Carolina. The Gators class featured four players ranked in the Extra Elite 100 rankings led by Comia who is ranked third. Shumaker is ranked fourth, while Lamar is sixth and Oxley is ranked ninth.

9 – UCLA


The UCLA softball program has received six signed National Letters of Intent (NLI) from Kaniya Bragg, Maggie Daniel, Addisen Fisher, Aleena Garcia, Sofia Mujica and Rylie Slimp, as announced by the Shelly Carlin UCLA head coach Kelly Inouye-Perez. Inouye-Perez’s 2024 signing class totes three of the top 10 recruits in the country, including the nation’s top player Addisen Fisher and No. 3-ranked player and No. 1-ranked catcher Sofia Mujica, according to Extra Inning Softball. Inouye-Perez and her staff expanded the breadth of their search for this year’s class, inking the program’s first players out of the states of Oregon (Fisher) and Alabama (Maggie Daniel). In addition to Fisher and Mujica, the Bruins class featured Slimp who is ranked eighth and Daniels who is ranked 12th.

10 – Florida State


Florida State head coach Lonni Alameda announced the signing of four athletes as part of their 2024 signing class. FSU will add Addie DeLong, Jasmine Francik, Shelby McKenzie and Isabella Ruggiero. All four Seminole signees are ranked in the Extra Elite 100 rankings. McKenzie is ranked fourth, DeLong is ranked sixth, Francik is ranked 12th and Ruggiero is ranked 15th.

11 – South Carolina


South Carolina head coach Beverly Smith has announced the signing of four high school senior student-athletes to compete for the Gamecocks beginning with the 2025 season: Shae Anderson (Moorpark, Calif./Moorpark), Mya Flindt (Rocklin, Calif./Whitney), Olivia Kotowski (Lilburn, Ga./Parkview), and Nia McKnight (Loganville, Ga./Grayson). The 2024 signing class is ranked as the No. 11 class by Extra Inning Softball. McNight is ranked 17th in the Extra Elite 100, Kotowski is 23rd and Anderson is ranked 43rd.

12 – Texas A&M


Texas A&M head coach Trisha Ford signed the No. 12 ranked recruiting class of 2024, according to Extra Inning Softball. The standout group is a collection of 10 high school signees, including five named to the Extra Elite 100 list. The class is highlighted by four signees ranking top 50 nationally, including Kelsey Mathis leading the group at No. 13. Della Jasinski (No. 26), Francessca Vrazel (No. 27), Kate Munnerlyn (No. 40) and Larisa Perez (No. 54) each received spots on the docket. Six signees are native Texans, including Mathis (Waco), Jasinski (Brenham), Vrazel (Danbury), Perez (San Antonio), DeeDee Baldwin (New Braunfels) and Harley Vestal (New Braunfels). Munnerlyn (Mountain View, California), Kk Dement (Selma, California), Taylor Brown (Washington, Missouri) and Sydney Lessentine (Alamogordo, New Mexico) will be making themselves familiar to the Lone Star State.

13 – Washington


Washington head coach Heather Tarr welcomes the addition of six signees on National Signing Day. Joining the Huskies as freshman in fall 2024 are Jade Bubke, Addison Craig, Alexis DeBoer, Sophi Mazzola, Morgan Reimer and Gabi Toney. Washington’s recruiting class is one of the top in the country, coming in at No. 13 in the Extra Innings Softball rankings. Reimer is ranked fifth in the Extra Elite 100 rankings, while DeBoer is ranked 11th, Mazzola is 22nd and Bubke is ranked 29th.

14 – Notre Dame


The University of Notre Dame softball team announced the addition of six student-athletes to its 2024 freshman class. The Fighting Irish have signed three infielders, a pitcher, a catcher and a utility player in this year’s class, and spanning the country with hometowns in California, Florida and Illinois. Kaia Cortes, Caitlyn Early, Rebecca Eckart, Avery Houlihan, Caroline O’Brien and Brianne Weiss make up this year’s class, ranked 14th by Extra Inning Softball. The Fighting Irish class featured five players ranked in the Extra Elite 100. Weiss is ranked 16th overall, Cortes is ranked 35th, O’Brien is ranked 36th, Early is 50th and Houlihan is 57th.

15 – Mississippi State


Samantha Ricketts has landed another top ranked class for Mississippi State softball, signing the nation’s No. 15 recruiting class on National Signing Day. State added nine players for its 2024 class, including six who have been ranked by Extra Inning Softball as Top 100 prospects. It is Ricketts’ largest number of top 100 prospects since taking over as head coach in 2020. She previously signed five in 2022 and four in both 2021 and 2020. The Bulldogs have landed a top-20 class nationally in five of the last eight cycles. The full class includes Paige Ernstes (ranked 41st), Gretta Grassel (ranked 45th), Sara Phillips (ranked 18th), Abby Grace Richardson, Xiane Romero (ranked 10th in 2022), Kalani Sells, Abigail Stevens, Morgan Stiles (ranked 15th) and Taylor Troutman (ranked ninth).

16 – Oregon


Oregon head coach Melyssa Lombardi has signed the nation’s No. 16 recruiting class, according to Extra Inning Softball, with the signing of seven student-athletes to the class of 2024. It is the second straight year the Ducks have landed a top-20 class. Oregon inked the No. 13 class last fall. Among those signing Wednesday were three top-20 players – No. 6 Kaylynn Jones, an infielder from Lantana, Texas, No. 15 Rylee McCoy, an infielder from Agoura Hills, Calif., and No. 16 Elyse Kresho, an outfielder from Jasper, Ga. Also signing a National Letter of Intent with the Ducks were catcher Emma Cox (Thornton, Colo.), catcher/utility player Presley Lawton (Medford, Ore.), infielder Stefini Ma’ake (San Diego, Calif.) and pitcher Rowan Thompson (Salem, Ore.).

17 – Auburn


Multiple All-American and All-State honors are just some of the accolades Auburn softball’s 2024 signing class features as head coach Mickey Dean announced the trio set to head to the Plains next fall. All three of the Tiger signees are ranked in the Extra Elite 100 list by Extra Inning Softball as the class as a whole ranks No. 17 in the nation. The star-studded trio combined for five All-American selections and nine All-State honorees. The 2024 class consists of utility player AnnaLea Adams, outfielder Jolie Adams and right-handed pitcher Blayne Godfrey.

18 – Alabama


Alabama head coach Patrick Murphy welcomed four new members to the Crimson Tide family on National Signing Day. The four high school seniors will join the Crimson Tide next fall ahead of the 2025 season with three of the four Crimson Tide signees earned a spot in the Extra Elite 100 rankings. The Alabama class consists of Braya Hodges, Mari Hubbard, Kennedy Marceaux and Audrey Vandagriff. Marceaux is ranked eighth in the Extra Elite 100, Vandagriff is 18th and Hubbard is 22nd.

19 – Clemson


Clemson softball head coach John Rittman announced the addition of six student-athletes on National Signing Day. The six newcomers, Macey Cintron, Riley Fennell, Madison Lardizabal, Sam Minish, Taylor Pipkins and Ava Wilson, will join the Tigers’ roster in the fall of 2024. Minish is ranked seventh in the Extra Elite 100, Pipkins is 19th, Cintron is ranked 20th and Fennell is ranked 24th.

20 – Duke


Duke head coach Marissa Young announced the signing of four new additions to the Blue Devil program during National Signing Day, with the class checking in at No. 20 in the nation, according to Extra Innings Softball. The 2024 class marks the fifth top-25 recruiting class in the program’s seven-year history. Joining the Blue Devils next season will be Ava Bradshaw, Gabriella Mike, Hailey Shuler and Brooklinn Thomas. Bradshaw is ranked 12th in the Extra Elite 100, while Mike is ranked 25th.

20 – Virginia Tech


Virginia Tech head coach Pete D’Amour announced the additions of Reagan Troy, Nora Abromavage, Jayden Jones, Jordan Lynch, Charlotte Moore, Mattie Jane Abernathy, and Bree Carrico to the 2024 signing class. Three Hokies are ranked in the Extra Elite 100 rankings led by Jones who is ranked 10th. Lynch comes in at 20th and Abromavage is ranked 37th.

21 – Northwestern

Northwestern head coach Kate Drohan announced four student-athletes to the 2024 signing class. The Northwestern class is comprised of Kate Dowden (Indianapolis, Ind.), Emma Blea (Fresno, Calif.), Avery Garden (Allen Park, Mich.) and Kaylie Avvisato (Leesburg, Va.). Three of the four signees are ranked in the Extra Elite 100 led by Avvisato who is ranked ninth overall. Blea is ranked 21st and Garden is ranked 47th.

22 – Baylor


Baylor added five student-athletes in the 2024 signing class, announced by head coach Glenn Moore. Three of the 2024 signees are from Texas, while one hails from Mississippi and one from Colorado. They are scheduled to enroll next fall and will be eligible for the spring 2025 season. The Bears class consists of Karynton Dawson, Gigi Lindsey, Faith Piper, Savanna Pogue and Sadie Ross. Dawson is ranked 12th in the Extra Elite 100, Pogue is 29th and Piper is ranked 39th.

23 – Michigan State


Michigan State head coach Sharonda McDonald-Kelley announced the addition of eight student-athletes in the 2023-24 signing class. Ava Coffinger (Richland, Mich.), Carsyn Cassady (Pataskala, Ohio), Ella Cunningham (Cleveland, Tenn.), Hannah Herman (Buchanan, Mich.), Jacey Schuler (Antioch, Ill.), Jordan Credeur (Georgetown, Texas), Natalia Kenyatta (Madison, Ala.) and Sophia Holverstott (Byron Center, Mich.) will join the Spartans next season. Michigan State’s recruiting class ranks No. 23 nationally via Extra Inning Softball and is ranked second among current B1G programs (Northwestern, No. 21). Coffinger, Schuler and Kenyatta all ranked in the EIS Top 100.

24 – Central Florida


For the second consecutive year, UCF is ranked among the top 25 recruiting classes in the country under the direction of head coach Cindy Ball-Malone. The Knights were ranked 16th in 2023 and come in at No. 24 this year. UCF’s 2024-25 class consists of six players, including three who were individually ranked among Extra Inning Softball’s Extra Elite 100 rankings. Catcher and first baseman Beth Damon leads the charge as the 24th-ranked player by Extra Inning Softball, followed by right-handed pitcher Lydia Coulson at No. 31 and fellow right-hander Yessenia Lopez at No. 35. Rounding out the Knights’ newest class are corner infielder Kendall Yarnell, middle infielder Coco Jaimes and third baseman Izzy Mertes.
