Starting Monday: 2021 Extra Elite 100, Player Rankings 101-500 & More!

Here’s a fun trivia question for you… what do the three players below all have in common besides being the top-rated player by Extra Inning Softball in their class?

• Class of 2018 Extra Elite 100 #1 player: Megan Faraimo (current UCLA freshman)
• Class of 2019 Extra Elite 100 #1 player: Kelley Lynch (signed with Washington)
• Class of 2020 Extra Elite 100 #1 player: Jayda Coleman (verbal to Oklahoma)

Answer: all were announced this week as making the USA Softball Women’s Jr. National Team!

No pressure on us or the 2021 Extra Elite 100 #1, who will be announced in just a few weeks!

This Monday, January 7, 2019, it all begins for the 2021 class as Extra Inning Softball begins unveiling the rankings of the top 100 current high school sophomore prospects – the prestigious 2021 Extra Elite 100— and wraps up the player ratings with the #1 overall prospect to be announced on Friday, January 18, 2019.

It won’t just be the Extra Elite 100 who are honored, however: we will do a rankings list that goes 500-deep as we feature these athletes who we have seen in person and have been recommended by more than 200 club and college scouts and coaches.

At the end of January, Extra Inning Softball will hit its 1-year “birthday” and in that time we will have published the Extra Elite 100 & Player Rankings for the 2018, 2019, 2020, and and 2022 classes.

The Class of 2021 will fill in the final piece but we won’t stop there… coming this year will also be updates to the previous classes and initial rankings for the 2023’s and beyond!

Led by Executive Editor Brentt Eads — who originated the top 100 rankings lists used in softball and has ranked over nine classes from 2014 to 2022—the new 2021 Extra Elite 100 will have the most extensive and thorough rankings and bios available along with head shots of every player.

Here is the schedule of the two-week run when we’ll unveil 10 prospects per day counting down from #100 through #1 in the Class of 2021 and a third week which will include a spotlight on the #1 player, the players rated #’s 101-500 and a list of which colleges are in line to have the top recruiting classes:
