Today was Day 2 of the USA Softball-produced Women’s National Team Selection Trials which will determine the 15 players and three alternates who will make the roster for 2020 that will participate in the Tokyo Olympic Games.
By the end of Thursday, all eight of the pitchers will have completed their turns in simulated games with each getting another shot over the next two days (scroll down this PAGE to see the schedule).
Most of the 29 participants are taking turns defensively at more than one position–for example, outfielders Jazmyn Jackson and Amanday Lorenz, are also playing third base and first base, respectively, during the hitting drills.
