Name: Emilia Brundage

High School: Valley Central High School Montgomery, NY
Club Team: Rhode Island Thunder 16U National-Lotti
Graduation Year: 2024
Height: 5-foot-8.5
Position: OF/UT
Nickname: E, Meals

Honors: Honorable Mention All-County and Defensive MVP.
Travel Ball Highlights: One of the best highlights from the fall was playing in Clearwater, FL, in front of about 50 D1 legendary college coaches in a night game against Virginia Unity. It was an incredible game that was very intense.
High School Spring Highlights/Stats: One of my favorite highlights about school ball is that I get to play SS. I feel like it makes me a more well-rounded player and helps me understand OF situations more as far as where to throw the ball to cuts and bases. I hit .491 AVG with 3 HRs and 19 RBIs.

Tell us about your travel team/organization and how you became involved with them?
I always heard of the Rhode Island Thunder growing up and hoped to one day play for Coach (Dave) Lotti on a national team. One of my best friends and current teammate was playing in the organization and talked about how much she loved the Thunder and all the exposure it provided, so I tryed out and it was the best decision my family made with me.
What do you bring to the team?
I feel like I bring a mix of options to our team, being a power slapper it gives me a lot of choices as a hitter, speed, power and small ball. I try to read defenses and take what they give. Whatever it will take to help us win. I have been focusing a lot on my defense and knowing where to throw the ball and, hopefully, throw some runners out.
What area are you focusing on/trying to improve this summer?
I’ve really been focusing on not overthinking and to stay relaxed in games. I just need to keep calm and make sure I get my job done.
What is something you have faced in your life that has helped you become the person that you are today?
Having two years of school taken away from me and living in NY was definitely challenging during the pandemic. It taught me how to be mentally tougher.
