VIPERS-WIGGINS TAKE DOWN MOJO 2023-LUNSFORD AT PGF MARCH MADNESS

***The 18U final of the PGF Marucci March Madness Tournament this weekend at Al Bishop Park in Atlanta, GA, came down to Atlanta Vipers 16U-Wiggins and Mojo 2023-Lunsford.
In an earlier meeting, C/3B/OF Kiera Daniels, #88 in the 2024 Extra Elite 100, connected with 2023 3B/1B/UT Bayleigh Rouse on a relay and 2023 C/1B Karlie Gutierrez applied the tag at the plate to give Allen Wiggins‘ Vipers a game-ending victory over Mojo Lunsford.
This time, the Vipers came away with an 8-1 victory in the championship game to take the at the Marucci March Madness Tournament.
The Vipers had a team batting average of .386 for the tournament and were led by 2024 P/OF Elyse Kresho (11 for 22 with 10 runs and 6 RBIs), 2023 2B/SS Kacie Wiggins (.438 AVG, 7 runs, 3 RBIs), Daniels (.389 AVG, 1 HR, .667 SLG), Gutierrez (.381 AVG, .571 SLG, 7 RBIs), Rouse (.353 AVG, .412 SLG, 7 RBIs), 2023 C/OF Natalie Malietzke (.333 AVG, .600 SLG) and 2024 C/1B Reagan Hickey (3 HRs).

***Mojo 2023-Lunsford were led by 2024 SS Ari Davis (3 HRs, 11 RBIs), 2024 OF Sam Minish (12 for 20, 10 runs), 2024 2B/OF Brooklin Lippert (14 for 22, .636 AVG, 11 runs) on offense. Their pitching featured Kennesaw State-committed 2023 P Leah Jannakos (1.47 ERA, 17 Ks in 19 IP) and 2023 P Karley Fuller (18 Ks in 19 IP, 4 earned runs).

***EC Bullets 14U-Gold-Holcombe beat Lady Dukes 14U National-Lamar, 2-0, and Atlanta Vipers 24/25-Tamborra, 5-3, in bracket play on Sunday to win the 16U title of the PGF Marucci March Madness Tournament at Mountain Park.
2025 C/3B/1B Cate Raines (.474 AVG, .500 OBP), 2025 OF/3B/SS Julia Morici (.471 AVG, .550 OBP), 2025 C/3B Harmony Jackson (.462 AVG, .696 OBP), 2026 C/IF Addie Joiner (.421 AVG, .450 OBP) and 2026 IF Payton Roberson (.412 AVG, .444 OBP) were standouts for the Bullets on offense.
In the circle, Abby Lovell and Katie Cunane dominated opposing teams for the tournament. Lovell had 35 Ks in 19 innings and allowed two earned runs. Lovell pitched championship game versus the Atlanta Vipers. Cunane pitched 13 innings, had 13 Ks and allowed 0 earned runs.
