The Extra Elite Eighty 16U Club Rankings were recently released and TLI will be taking a look at the teams that made the top 80 for the next few weeks.
Today the spotlight is on …

Extra Elite Eighty 16U Ranking: #66
Head Coach: MARSHALL ASKLAND
2020 Fall Record: They went 28-12-1 and were 6-1 at the Triple Crown Ronald McDonald Tournament and 4-1 at the Arizona Fall Showcase.
Has your team earned an invite to PGF Nationals or AFCS? They have an invite to the PGF 16U Platinum Nationals and they have accepted invites to the USSSA Elite Championships and the Triple Crown USA Nationals.
The Returners:
- Riley Askland (2023, OF/MIF, a very strong arm and great defender in the OF that loves to get dirty)
- Cameron Lauretta (2023, P/1B, a 5-foot-10 right-hander who is one of the strongest players on the team and continues to improve in the circle)
- Kyla Acres (2023, OF/1B, a very consistent hitter that hits for power)
- Hannah Howe (2023, C/3B, a strong arm behind the plate, one of the top hitters on the team and versatile, so she can also play 3B)
- Brytnee Caldwell (2023, C/OF, a very good utility player that contributes at C, 2B and OF)
- Averi O (2023, 3B, a lockdown 3B with a strong arm and bats clean-up for the team)
- Alanna Winters (2023, OF/MIF, a great utility player that can play 2B and OF at a high level)
- McClayn Wankier (2023, SS/2B, the team’s best all-around athlete, she has great speed, range and a strong arm at SS)
- Adrian Powell (2024, 2B/SS, a speedy lead-off hitter with great glove skills)
- Kassidy Bell (2024, P/1B, a spinner-type pitcher who continues to grow)
- Zohie Lopez (2024, C/1B, young with great size behind the plate)
- Paisley Lantz (2024, OF/3B, a 5-foot-9 power hitter with great speed and loads of potential)
The Newcomers:
- Talia Tretton (2024, P/3B/1B, a 5-foot-10 pitcher with great speed, movement, runs in the 62-63 mph range and multiple pitches in her arsenal)
- Liliana Esparza (2025, P/2B, a diamond in the rough with a bright future).
What will it take for your team to be successful this season?
This team is on the verge of accomplishing great things. This team has been competing very well against many of the top teams around and now with strengthening our pitching staff we should be able to take that next step. As our players become more and more confident in themselves and their training, they will begin to make more noise in the softball community. We need to continue to trust the process and work hard every day. This group of young ladies have been committed to doing this and eager to be successful.
