On Friday, we posted the Top 10 players listed in the 2023 Extra Elite 100 and one of those was Mia Williams, the amazingly athletic infielder with the Tennessee Mojo - Fisher team who is committed to the Florida Gators.
It reminded us of a video we posted early last year when, after a camp in Florida, Mia and Brooke Blankenship of Tampa Mustangs-McGuire--herself a Top 5 player in the 2021 Extra Elite 100 and a Florida State commit--went head-to-head (or, more accurately, hand-to-hand) in a fun competition between commits to the two Sunshine State universities.
Here's that video with Brooke on the left and Mia on the right...

They are two of the top softball programs in the nation and there’s a natural in-state rivalry between the Florida Gators and the Florida State Seminoles, so pride was on the line when two of the respective programs’ top recruits went head-to-head in an unusual contest on January 7th at the Faster2First event in Vero Beach, Florida.
Representing the Gators was infielder Mia Williams, perhaps the top recruit in the 2023 class, and member of the Georgia Impact-Fisher program, and on the Seminole side was another Top 5 player in her class, Brooke Blankenship, a 2021 infielder with the Tampa Mustangs-Walford squad.
After the event was over, the two challenged each other to.. well, a test of endurance that you rarely see on the softball field!
Check out the video to see which side won the good-natured stand-off… or more accurately, the UF/FSU “hand-off!”
