On Monday, barely more than 48 hours after winning a National Championship, Extra Inning Softball’s Brentt Eads caught up with Head Coach John Corn and five of his standout players on the Lady Lightning Gold DeMarini Platinum Squad (18U) via a Zoom Call.
On Friday, the Lightning topped the Windermere Wildfire in the championship game to win the USA Softball JO Cup; you can read about the title victory by clicking HERE.
In the 30 minute Zoom call, Brentt talked to Coach Corn and several of the key players on the team including outfielder Tyesha Williams (2021, Boston Univ.), pitcher Kyra Pittman (2021, Maryland), second baseman Karlee Hughes (2022, uncommitted), pitcher Maddie Pleasants (2021, Marist) and catcher Joie Fittantie (2021, East Carolina).
The coach and athletes talked about the crazy summer schedule, how the team came together including the key factors that helped them win the championship on Saturday and what lies ahead.
