Addie Rochelle: Courage Beyond the Injury

In June 2021, a standard sports physical became a life-altering moment for Addie Rochelle. The 2028 utility player and pitcher from Hernando High School bent to touch her toes during the exam, only to hear her doctor utter unexpected concern: something wasn’t right with her back. That concern led to further evaluations—and ultimately, a diagnosis of scoliosis requiring spinal fusion surgery.
What followed was a test of not just physical strength, but mental fortitude, patience, and faith in the process. This is Rochelle’s story—told not in setbacks, but in steps forward.
