Copyright – Player & Team ImagesÂ
Over the last few months we offered a free Canva template to parents and coaches. The template was used for uploading player images which were then shared on social media. On several occasions, someone deleted all of our templates and even uploaded the logo of a different company after deleting ours. As a result, we opted to create the bio images ourselves. Due to the time and resources we use to offer this service, we now charge a small fee prior to releasing the images which are currently watermarked. Yet, many players and parents continue to screenshot the images we create and share them on social media. If this continues, we will no longer offer this service and will resort to providing only ‘lists’ of players who are ranked. Extra Inning Softball does NOT charge for the hours and resources spent ranking players . Therefore, please respect our requests and do not screenshot our content which is noted as ‘copyright’ at the bottom of each article.Â
A Message from CEO: Bonnie Holland: Ties vs. No Ties
Under previous management, there was 297 players ranked in the Extra Elite 100 Class of 2028 last year (2023). Our Extra Inning Softball Rankings Committee has done away with ties in an effort to improve the credibility of EIS rankings and to identify a true 100. If your player was ranked in the Extra Elite 100 last year but is not ranked this year, it is most likely due to the issue with ties. For example, below is the list of players who were ranked in the top 10 last year for the Class of 2028. As you can see, 29 players made the top 10. The ‘Elite 100’ was meant to be a true ‘Elite 100’ not an Elite ‘297’ or Elite ‘563’ (as was the case for the Class of 2024 under the direction of previous management).
There are 100 PLAYERS RANKED IN THE TOP 28 LAST YEAR FOR THE CLASS OF 2028!  Ties = more $$$ and ‘people pleasing’… it’s that simple. There are other ways to highlight top talent without bloating the rankings. In the weeks to come, look for some big announcements to the way in which EIS will conduct rankings going forward.
