The countdown is officially on.
Beginning July 24, Extra Inning Softball will open nominations for its first-ever Class of 2030 Rankings, giving one of the sport’s fastest-rising classes an opportunity to earn national recognition and exposure.
As these athletes continue to establish themselves on the national stage, this inaugural rankings release marks an exciting milestone for both the players and the Extra Inning Softball community. Whether you’re a parent, coach, or athlete, now is the time to begin preparing your nomination materials before submissions officially open.
A Brand-New Rankings Experience
This year’s rankings will introduce an exciting new presentation that goes far beyond a traditional list of names.
For the first time, the Class of 2030 rankings will be revealed on a visually enhanced National Leaderboard, allowing athletes to showcase much more than their ranking alone.
Each featured athlete will have the opportunity to be displayed with:
- A player photo
- Team and position information
- Athletic accomplishments
- Recognition badges and special accolades
- Additional profile highlights that celebrate their achievements
The updated leaderboard is designed to create a more engaging experience for athletes and families while making it easier for college coaches and the softball community to discover emerging talent.
Instead of simply appearing on a rankings list, athletes will be showcased in a format that highlights both their performance and their journey. Athletes can submit their nominations beginning July 24 through the Extra Inning Softball Submission Form.

The First Rankings for the Class of 2030
This release represents the first official national rankings produced by Extra Inning Softball for the Class of 2030.
Every nomination will be carefully evaluated using Extra Inning Softball’s comprehensive review process, which considers verified performance, accomplishments, competition level, projection, consistency, and additional evaluation criteria.
As one of the youngest nationally ranked graduating classes, these athletes are only beginning their softball journeys. The inaugural rankings provide an opportunity to recognize their early success while establishing a foundation for future evaluations as they continue to develop throughout their careers.
For many athletes, this will be their first opportunity to earn national recognition through Extra Inning Softball.

Powered by the SERV Methodology
Every Class of 2030 nomination will be evaluated using Extra Inning Softball’s proprietary SERV Methodology, a comprehensive system developed to create a more consistent and objective athlete evaluation process.
SERV stands for:
- Software – Proprietary systems that track and organize athlete performance data.
- Evaluate – Position-specific skill assessments and measurable performance metrics.
- Research – Cross-checking competition level, event participation, and verified on-field performance.
- Verify – Confirming the accuracy of information through multiple trusted data points.
Rather than relying on a single tournament, stat line, or recommendation, the SERV Methodology combines multiple evaluation factors to provide a well-rounded assessment of each athlete. The result is a rankings process designed to recognize performance, potential, consistency, and verified accomplishments while maintaining the integrity of Extra Inning Softball’s national evaluations.

Introducing the 5-Star Initiative ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
The Class of 2030 rankings will also coincide with the launch of Extra Inning Softball’s 5-Star Initiative, an enhanced recognition program designed to spotlight athletes who distinguish themselves through performance, development, leadership, and overall impact on the game.
The initiative expands how athletes are recognized by creating additional opportunities for visibility beyond traditional rankings.
The program reflects Extra Inning Softball’s continued commitment to evolving its evaluation process while providing meaningful exposure that benefits athletes throughout their recruiting journey.

How the Rankings Process Works
The Extra Inning Softball rankings are designed to recognize athletes at both the regional and national levels, ensuring players are evaluated against others competing in similar areas before earning national distinction.
Following the nomination period, every athlete is first evaluated within their geographic region using Extra Inning Softball’s proprietary SERV Methodology. This regional review allows the Rankings Committee to evaluate athletes with their peers while considering verified accomplishments, level of competition, measurable performance, and long-term projection.

Once regional evaluations are complete, the highest-performing athletes from across the country advance into the national rankings discussion. During this phase, Rankings Committee compare the top players from each region to determine the final National Rankings and recognize the athletes who have demonstrated exceptional performance, consistency, and overall potential.
This two-step process creates a more balanced and comprehensive evaluation, ensuring athletes have the opportunity to stand out both within their region and on the national stage. It also allows Extra Inning Softball to recognize outstanding talent across every part of the country while maintaining a consistent evaluation standard for every nominee.
