Club News: Presenting the Extra Inning Softball 2021 “All-Summer Team (16U)!”

Mackenzie Kila of LK Black Hawaii, impressed with a .422 batting average and 39 RBIs and with her ability to make great catches in the outfield.

We continue our look at club player standouts from the Summer of 2021 by presenting those who impressed at the 16U level.

On Monday, we featured the 14U All-Summer Team and on Tuesday, Sept. 7 we’ll wrap up with the 18U super-achievers…

EXTRA INNING SOFTBALL 2021 ALL-SUMMER 16U TEAM

MVP PLAYER

Kasidi Pickering, 2023, UT, Hotshots National – Nelson: Had the game-winning hit at PGF 16U Premier Nationals to give her team the National Championship—amazingly, her 9th national title in her club career so far. Had a strong Summer across the board: batted .507 against elite competition—16’s and even majority 18’s— with 68 hits, 39 runs scored, 20 doubles, nine home runs, 50 RBIs and also went 11-for-13 in stolen bases. “A true champion on and off the field,” says her Hotshots Coach, Nate Nelson.

MVP PITCHER

Kierston Deal, 2022, LHP, Mojo – Fisher: Pitched 119.2 innings with 201 K’s versus 17 walks and averaged 11 K’s per 7 innings pitched. ERA of 0.79 with WHIP of 0.652. At PGF Nationals only gave up two earned runs in 62 innings.
