Meet Coach Chase Belk

What happens when a self-proclaimed “terrible parent in the stands” trades the bleachers for the dugout? You get a coach like Chase Belk—real, reflective, and relentlessly invested in building more than just ballplayers.

As head coach of Fury Platinum National Belk, Belk has built a reputation for developing high-performing athletes with an even higher standard of character. But his secret? It’s not strategy or stats—it’s Mudita and Ubuntu—two powerful principles that redefine what it means to be a team. If you think coaching is just about wins and losses, this story might just change your mind.

Read on to discover how Belk’s unlikely coaching journey is creating one of the tightest-knit, mentally tough squads in travel softball—and why he believes joy, unity, and mindset will always outlast a trophy.
