One day you’re packing a bat bag that’s bigger than she is; the next, you’re watching her load a bus in a college hoodie that makes you blink twice. The miles matter. Long bus rides and longer car rides are where inside jokes are born, playlists are argued, and nerves settle into laughter. Those quiet stretches of highway become the classroom for resilience and gratitude—far from the scoreboard, close to each other. Don’t race through that space.
