“I am very excited to see our Bradenton Lynx take the field,” said Coach Fico. “Our overall athleticism and experience in the circle should help keep us in every ball game we play. The mix of power and speed at the plate will also be interesting to watch.”

Coach Fico continued, “We have a very talented group of athletes who have been waiting around all spring to finally hit the clay! I look forward to working with each and every one of our athletes to help continue to build their individual games both physically and mentally speaking.”
The FGCL is a 501C-3 organization based out of Bradenton, Fl. The league will open its summer season in June and will offer the athletes an extensive playing and training opportunity.
“I was absolutely flattered and honored to be asked to be a part of the inaugural FGCL this summer,” Coach Fico responded regarding the FGCL season. “It is amazing to me that something like this hasn’t come to fruition until now considering how big college softball has become across the nation.”
“I think we are on the ground floor of something that will continue to change the game for the better moving forward…this is just the beginning! Most collegiate softball players stop playing ‘travel ball’ once they age out of 18U. The FGCL will give those players who truly love the game an avenue to continue to play competitive ball longer and also strengthen an already “close knit” collegiate softball community. I can’t wait to get started.”
