The transfer portal has become one of—if not the biggest—stories in college sports in recent years and it’s certainly had an impact in softball as well.
Well over 1,000 college athletes have been in the portal at any given time and, to aid those looking to make a move, Fast Pitch Pro Scouts has teamed with the Florida Gulf Coast League to produce the National Collegiate Transfer Portal Workout to be held June 15, 2022, in Bradenton, Florida.
The workout will be held from 10 am to 5 pm on June 15th at G.T. Bray Park in Bradenton, Florida (5502 33rd Ave Dr W, Bradenton, FL 34209).
According to event organizers:
“Any collegiate softball athlete is eligible to participate and those in the Florida Gulf Coast League (FGCL) will be able to work out for free.”
The event will be administered by the Fast Pitch Pro Scouts along with professional players and coaches in an all-day pro day combine format.
Eligibility is for “all collegiate softball athletes in the transfer portal or who WILL be in the transfer portal” and players will have the opportunity to be evaluated “in front of college recruiters in-person and via live stream.”
Cost to attend and participate at the event for non-FGCL athletes is $100 plus a $2.50 service fee.
