Event News: ProSwings College Exposure Camp Aug. 5-7… Starts Two Weeks from Today, Registration Ends Next Friday

The ProSwings College Exposure Camp starts two weeks from today and there’s just one week left to register for the remaining player spots.

We’re on the verge of the big nationals that will being played over the next two weeks, but don’t forget that right after that will be one of the best camps of the Summer—and note that there’s just one week left to register.

Stephanie Best, founder of ProSwings.

The ProSwings College Exposure Camp runs from Friday, August 5 to Sunday, August 7 in Seminole County, Florida and will feature training and direct instruction from 40 top college coaches from all over the country.

We’ll hear more from the college coaches in a second, but first here are some insights into what the College Exposure Camp is courtesy of ProSwings Founder Stephanie Best, the former Central Florida great who is highly respected by college coaches nationwide.

“The ProSwings College Exposure Camp is a three-day camp that runs 9 am to 2 pm each day, with the option to also choose one day or two days as well.”

“The camp is split up each day between skill development stations run by the college coaches, as well as a scrimmage game each day that is also run by the college coaches. Each field will staff at least six college coaches who stay hands on start to finish.”

As noted in our initial article two weeks ago (click HERE to read it), coaches working the event cover all levels and include programs such as Florida, Florida State, Texas, Ole Miss, Pitt, Harvard, Furman and dozens more.

Aric Thomas, the Florida assistant coach and recruiting coordinator, shares some thoughts with ProSwings campers.

“The August Pro Swings Camp is nothing short of first class!” Aric Thomas, a Florida Gators assistant coach and the recruiting coordinator, believes. “Stephanie Best does a tremendous job of bringing great people together every year. One of the tell-tale signs is the retention rate of the coaches.”

“The same great coaches come back every year to work for Steph. Through the game of softball, her heart is truly on a mission to impact athletes and teach them life lessons. You can feel this energy and that’s why people line up to work this camp year after year. The game of softball is better with Stephanie Best involved in it and I’m grateful she asks me back every year!”

Mercer Head Coach Lindsey Fico listens to an athlete at a previous ProSwings College Exposure Camp

Another college coach who raves about the event is Lindsey Fico, the Head Coach for the Mercer Bears in Macon, Georgia.

“The ProSwings’ August camp is like no other and when you see the coaches it pulls from some of the most successful programs across the nation, you realize just how big of an impact Steph has made and is continuing to make on the game of softball,” Coach Lindsey says. “I am honored to be a part of her circle and I am so grateful there are people like her shaping our younger students of the game. I truly feel ProSwings has been a guiding light in the what can sometimes be a ‘messy’ world of travel-ball. Hopefully, Steph will do this forever…softball needs her.”

Here’s a look at a half-minute video clip where you hear the perspective of college coaches about the ProSwings College Exposure Camp:

And who should consider attending the camp? Here’s what the event director herself thinks.

“The ProSwings College Exposure Camps are geared towards the serious athlete who is passionate about working on skill development, the mental game and building quality relationships with college coaches around the country at all levels that can help lead them through the recruiting process and future opportunities,” says Stephanie.

The flexibility is there that athletes can attend one, two or all three days, but there are two key reasons to be there every day,” Coach Best explains.

“The benefit of attending camp all three days is getting to work with all 40 college coaches. Campers who are only attending the one or two-day options will not be able to go through all field rotations through the three days to work with all 40 coaches. Also, the three-day camp option also offers a $100 discount!”

Jennifer McKibben of Pensacola State College instructs a player at a College Exposure Camp.

Jennifer McKibben, an assistant coach at Pensacola State College, believes the success of the College Exposure Camp is because it is a large, yet intimate event that’s not just for the athletes but for the college coaches as well.

“I remember years ago when Steph mentioned the idea she had for ProSwings,” Coach Jennifer remembers. “I knew immediately it would be a major game-changer in the growth of our game. She isn’t about the bottom line or the quantity, ProSwings is 100 percent about the quality they put out there and you can see the reward in the hundreds of college coaches that year in and year out attend and work her events.”

The start of college coach and player relationships, where coaches ID prospects they’d like to recruit does happen, Coach McKibben attests.

“We always walk away from a ProSwings event with potential future athletes for our program. We couldn’t be more proud to represent Pensacola State every summer and fall at ProSwings events.”

College coaches, including Tyler Bratton of Mississippi State (pictured), return year after year to work the ProSwings College Exposure Camp because, as one commented: “What Stephanie and ProSwings are able to do for our sport is incredible, not just for the athletes but for us as coaches as well.”
