National Club Team of the Week: Beverly Bandits 16U – Conroy
* The Easton Rawlings Invitational was held July 6-10 in Ackerman Park in Glen Ellen, Illinois, and the Beverly Bandits 16U – Conroy team took the title by beating Select Fastpitch 18U 2-1 in ITB behind the strong pitching of 2024 lefty Audrey Lowry and 2023 right-hander Sage Mardjetko who is committed to South Carolina (and who was just announced Monday evening as an Extra Inning Softball High School American pitcher).
Leading the way offensively were hitters 2024 OF Addie Delong, 2024 MIF Gabby Comia and 2024 3B AnnaLea Adams.

Addie Delong hit the game-winning base hit and led the team in runs scored while Annalea Adams was consistent in driving in runs for the champs and hit a pair of three-run homes in the same game. Gabi Comia had the highest batting average for the champs and was stellar defensively at shortstop.
“I can’t say enough about the pitching,” Coach Bill Conroy told Extra Inning Softball. “The semifinal game was against another Bandits team and that one also went to ITB before we were able to win 1-0 with Gabby driving in (2023 CF) Lauren Swanson (who is committed to Memphis).”
Impressively, the pitchers only gave up four runs in the five single elimination games and in the 11 total games at the Invitational, nine of them were against 18U teams.
“Earlier in the tournament,” Conroy continues, “we beat some other high level 18’s such as Tampa Bay Mustangs – TJ by the score of 2-0 and the So Cal Explosion 18’s by the same score.”
Coach Conroy also praised 2023 outfielders Maggie Roh, a Toledo commit, and Julia Larson, who is headed to Illinois State, for their clutch and timely hitting during the Easton Rawlings Invitational.
“The whole team played awesome but I have to also give Maggie credit for coming up with a big double to tie the game with two outs in the bottom of the final inning in the championship and Julia, who came up with some clutch hits and played great defense at the hot corner.”
One player who also was impressive for her durability and toughness was 2024 catcher Ava Mobley, who filled in because of two separate injuries to the Bandits – Conroy regular catchers.
“She came thru like a rock star,” the head coach commented, “catching all three games on Sunday and coming through big in a mercy rule win on Saturday night.”
Conroy also complimented his coaches, Ben Robles and Mike Johnson, adding: “I couldn’t be prouder of this team and the coaches Ben and Mike, for the job they’ve done the last 11 days, going undefeated in both eliminations in IDT, Boulder Colorado and Easton Rawlings Invitational. Now we finish off the season in beautiful Huntington Beach, California in hopes of winning PGF Nationals!”
Runner-Up / National Club Teams of the Week

* The Texas Fastpitch League (TFL) championships were held last week and some of the premier names in the travel ball world won championships: Texas Bombers 18U Gold-Smith; Impact Gold 16U-Jazz; Texas Bombers 14U Gold-Malpass and Texas Glory 12U-Miller all won titles.
The Scott Smith-led 18U Bombers team went undefeated at 10-0 for the TFL tournament that ended Sunday in Plano, Texas and a big reason was the big bats of the team loaded with college talent.
Shortstop Leighann Goode, a senior infielder who signed with Texas and was ranked #23 in the final Extra Elite 100 rankings for the class, batted .524 and had 11 RBIs for the week while senior outfielder Mihyia Davis, who signed with Louisiana-Lafayette and is ranked #11 in the 2022 Extra Elite 100, hit .533 with a .667 on-base percentage.
And we can’t forget the battery of pitcher Citaly Gutierrez, ranked #36 in the 2022 Extra Elite 100, and catcher Destiny Rodriguez, ranked #28 in the 2022 Extra Elite 100.
The pitcher, signed with Texas, went 3-0 with a .088 ERA and the backstop, who is headed to Tennessee, hit .533 with an on-base percentage of .667.

* Another Bombers team that went undefeated in the TFL Championships was Kristi Malpass’s 14U team that went 9-0 for the week and topped a good Hotshots National team 3-1 and 2-0 in the final.
The pitching, as evidenced by those pair of wins, was strong all weekend led by a pair of 2025 right-handers in Alex Starr, who didn’t give up an earned run in 17 innings pitched while she struck out 26 opponents, and Cali Deal, who also didn’t give up an earned run in her 16 innings as she struck out 12.
All facets of the Bombers game was on fire as the defense turned eight double plays and the offense outscored opponents 42-5 and collected 20 steals.
Leading the offensive onslaught were 2025 outfielders Zoe Greenwood and Mikayla Wilson, who hit .562 and .462 respectively, and infielder Meiko Dominguez, who batted .472 with a pair of home runs and is ranked #11 in the 2025 Extra Elite 100.

* The MN Magic National 18U team lead by Rick Pickett won the Minnesota Top Tier Championship on July 10 after winning the Colorado Supplemental Pool on July 3 and, before that, the S&C Showcase on June 16—giving them a 3-0 record in tournament appearances this season.
Said someone close to the team:
“The great thing about this team is that they play for each other and everyone contributes.”

* At the 10U level, watch out for the West Pasco Angels All-Stars softball team from New Port Richey, Florida, which dominated at the Dixie State Softball Tournament last week in Bristol, Florida.
The young team made up of 9 and 10-year-olds went undefeated during the district and state tournament and won the championship 15-0 as pitcher Abby Jetter threw a no hitter.
In the semi-final win, pitcher Macy St. George gave up just two hits with nine strikeouts and helped her cause with two hits in the 12-5 win.
The champs from the Sunshine State next plays in the Dixie Softball World Series in Louisiana in two weeks.

National Club Player of the Week:

* Hannah Harvey, a 2023 second baseman for the Impact Gold National 18U – Rodriguez team coached by Brianne Rodriguez, had a huge week at the TFL Championship that ended July 10 with her team winning the Alamo bracket with a 6-3 record.
The Kennesaw State commit went 14-for-22 (.636 batting average) with a .667 on-base percentage and hit .643 with runners in scoring position.
For the tournament, she has a .818 slugging percentage as she hit four doubles and drove in seven runs. Her OPS was 1.485.
Interestingly, Hannah told Extra Inning Softball that she wasn’t hitting well out of the gate at the TFL Championship.
“I started off the tournament on the ‘struggle bus,'” she admitted, “but after making some small, but crucial adjustments to my swing and how I approach each at-bat, I then was able to have better results. I also was seeing the ball extremely well throughout the entire rest of the tournament.”

Runners-Up / National Club Player of the Week

* The always strong Atlanta Legacy Showcase was hit with rain last weekend, unfortunately, but one player who was able to impress was Aniya Merritt, a 2024 outfielder who plays for Team NC 16U – Britt out of Lumberton, North Carolina.
Aniya went 6-for-10 (.600) with a .636 on-base percentage and scored six runs, knocked in three and went 5-for-5 in steals.
For the season, the incoming junior has a .574 batting average, 30 runs scored and 28 steals.
* Lilly Garcia, the 2022 grad for Firecrackers 18U – Wallace who has signed with Cal State Fullerton and is a member of the Mexico Jr. National Team, had another monster week against great competition just weeks after she was our National Player of the Week (June 29, 2022).
At the PGF Surf City Summer Showcase, she went 4-0 with wins against top-ranked 18U teams including SoCal A’s Richardson (ranked in the preseason at #18) Universal FP Gold, AASA-Merida, Firecrackers – TJ (preseason #36).
In her 27 innings pitched, she had 42 strikeouts and didn’t give up an earned run and allowed just nine total hits.
For the summer now, Lilly has a 13-1 record with a 0.00 ERA.Lilly had a no hitter going against Explosion Schimmel in her first start of the weekend, prior to being replaced.
The “Bella Duo” (below)

* We have to give a shout-out to the “Bella Duo” who plays for the first-year AZ Explosion 14U – Cerio/Kemper team, and really impressed at the USA A State 16U championship.
The “Bellas” batted at the top of the order and put up these impressive numbers:
— Bella Perez, a 2026 shortstop, posted a .667 batting average going 8-for-12 including a double and home run. She also scored six runs and drove in five more on the weekend.
— Isabella Cadena, a 2027 outfielder, batted .714 batting average going 5-for-7 with four walks, a pair of doubles and a home run. She scored five runs and knocked in 3 RBIs.

* Sasha Pham, a 2026 middle infielder for the Athletics – Mercado/RC team, impressed in two ways at the Colorado Sparkler last week as she hit .392 with a .992 fielding percentage for her club team and drove in 14 RBIs and made the All-Tournament list.
Sasha also had the opportunity to play for Team Mexico 16U at the International Challenge and finished the event with a .429 batting average.
The incoming freshman was ranked #50 in the 2026 Extra Elite 100 and was also invited to the Rosetta Jamboree hosted by OnDeck.
* Haiylee Reeves, a 2025 catcher and third baseman for the Firecracker – Leles team out of Sacramento, California, batted .500 with an on-base percentage of .571 and a slugging percentage of .667 last weekend at the PGF Surf City Showcase.
Previously, Hailey—who lives in Idaho—hit .412 with a .444 on-base percentage at Colorado Sparkler and helped her team go 6-2 with a three-run home run in one game.
