Since the coronavirus (COVID-19) stay-at-home orders Jaysoni Fowler has been one of Extra Inning Softball’s favorite players to follow because of her ingenious indoor training tactics.
The uncommitted 2023 third baseman is a big anti-gum advocate/amateur carpenter/baker, but she really excels on the field.
“Jay is an all-around amazing athlete,” Florida State-committed P Ashtyn Danley, #3 in the 2023 Extra Elite 100, said. “She is a crucial third baseman and knocks down everything that comes her way. She has so much confidence and carries herself so well on the field. She has great hands and is very quick on her feet. She brings something special to our team that we were lacking before she got here. She has a great stick and is a very important part of our lineup. What makes Jay so unique is how she lifts up everyone on the team. She is very quiet but gives off really good positive vibes that help our team to be up.”
Florida State-committed 1B Angelee Bueno, #10 in 2023 Extra Elite 100, believes Fowler’s attitude always picks up the team.
“Jaysoni is one of a kind, not only is she absolutely amazing softball player, but she has a great attitude and is always smiling,” Bueno said. “Anything that is hit to her at third base I know it’s going to get caught. She’s got that position locked down and I’m so lucky to play with a player like that. She means so much to the team. She’s never negative, always positive. Always happy no matter the situation. She’s a team player and that’s all a teammate asks for. The thing that makes Jaysoni the most unique is her defense at third, but not only that, she has helped us so much in the lineup and with one swing she can change the game. I know she will always have my back as a teammate and she’s an amazing person on and off the field.”
P/OF Brenlee Gonzales, #31 in the 2024 Extra Elite 100, trusts in Fowler’s knowledge of the game.
“Jaysoni does a really great job at third base,” Gonzales said. “Her knowledge of the game, range and decision making are definitely a comfort as a pitcher because I know anything hit to her is an automatic out. She’s definitely a joy to be around, always has a positive attitude, and a great work ethic. Her ability at the plate, her athletic ability, team mentality, definitely makes her a fit for any team in the nation.”
