MaxPreps and Extra Inning Softball teamed up this spring to spotlight the most consistent and impactful hitters in the country through the Golden Bat Award for Highest Batting Average. Every two weeks, top performers at the plate were recognized—each meeting a strict benchmark of excellence in average and consistency. For this final national honor, the Top 5 athletes in the nation were selected based on overall batting average, number of at-bats, and offensive impact, making this recognition one of the most elite contact-hitting honors in high school softball.

How the Golden Bat Award for Batting Average Works
MaxPreps and Extra Inning Softball created the Golden Bat Award for Highest Batting Average to spotlight the most consistent and dominant hitters in high school softball. This national award honors athletes who set the tone at the plate, deliver under pressure, and turn every at-bat into an opportunity.
To qualify, each athlete needed a minimum batting average of .795 during the season. From this elite pool, the Top 5 hitters in the nation were selected based on total average, consistency, and offensive impact.
These athletes didn’t just get on base—they led their teams with relentless production and next-level plate discipline. The Golden Bat for Batting Average celebrates those who turned contact into chaos and delivered hit after hit all spring long.
