One of the elite high school sports programs in the country, Mater Dei High of Santa Ana, California, has long been a power in multiple sports including football, basketball, baseball and softball.
It looks to continue its winning ways in softball after hiring Sean Brashear as its new head coach, Monarchs athletic director Tia Meza confirmed on Thursday.
“(I’m) excited for the opportunity to be part of such a prestigious high school,” Brashear said.
Brashear’s Firecrackers-Brashear organization has had significant success at top events; he helped guide his teams to a PGF 14U Platinum national title in 2017 and a PGF 16U Platinum national championship in 2016.
