On Tuesday of this past week, the roster of teams for this summer’s Top Gun Invitational was released via a social media “reveal show”–think NCAA Men’s Basketball March Madness bracket telecast–on the Top Gun Events Facebook Page.
The Top Gun Invitational — one of the elite fastpitch club tournaments of the year — runs June 15-18, 2023, in Kansas City and will feature over 280 teams from more than 30 different states. The squads will battle in the age divisions of 12U, 14U, 16U and 18U with 107 different clubs vying for championships including two international squads from New Zealand.
The event has become a staple in the summer recruiting tour and in 2022 saw over 200 colleges and universities represented. Here is the link to access the event-specific site online: 2023 Top Gun Invitational.

The online show released this week previews this year’s Invitational and runs just over 27 minutes with Robb Behymer, the Owner of Top Gun Events; Kayleigh Behymer, Operations Coordinator of Top Gun; and softball analyst Brentt Eads of Extra Inning Softball commenting on the teams in each age division and ones to watch.

Another top stop for college coaches tied into the Top Gun Invitational will be the TGI Prospect Camp to be held the day before the start of the Invitational—Wednesday, June 14, 2023. Instructors include coaches from top programs in Divisions 1, 2 and 3 as well as the NAIA and JC ranks.
Additionally, high school seniors competing in the Top Gun Invitational 18U division have the chance to apply for a $1,000 scholarship with four to be awarded to deserving high school seniors who demonstrate outstanding character, academics, and community development.
