Extra Inning Softball (EIS) is thrilled to announce changes to the format and process of how things are done here at EIS. That includes rankings, article content, video interviews, changes to our team, live EIS coverage at top events throughout the country, and so much more! We are on a mission to revolutionize media coverage of girls’ fastpitch softball at every level of the game! We hope you’ll come along with us on this new journey, EIS 2.0 ~ Empower, Inspire, Support!
WHY?
WE HEARD YOU!
We realized it was time to reevaluate the way we operate. Admittedly, 2023 has been a tough year for EIS.Â
In April last year, our editorial department published a story that had no place in our media platform and it does not align with our new mission to Empower, Inspire, and Support young athletes. Not only was this hurtful to the individual and her family, but the softball community as a whole. We are sorry! We assure you that past mistakes will be publicly addressed in the coming weeks. We hope all supporters in the softball community will stand by our new EIS 2.0. initiative to:  Empower, Inspire, Support. It’s a NEW DAY!
EXTRA INNING SOFTBALL TEAM CHANGESÂ
We are proud to announce that we have begun to build a team of experienced and talented women who are deeply connected in the softball space. These extraordinary individuals bring a wealth of knowledge and a passion for the game that is unparalleled. With their expertise and dedication, we are confident that we will raise the bar in our coverage and deliver the best content to our audience.
But that’s not all – we are not only improving our internal operations, but also the team itself. We are excited to unveil upcoming changes to our current team, as we continue to bring on more experienced and passionate individuals who are dedicated to advancing the coverage and promotion of girls’ fastpitch softball. These new additions will further strengthen our capabilities and ensure that we provide more comprehensive, unbiased, and insightful coverage.Â
NOT JUST COVERAGE AND RANKINGS
In our reevaluation process it became clear that EIS needed to make a lot of changes. As our team discussed what we want to be known for and what type of impact we want to have on the softball community, we couldn’t help but address the fact that this is a woman’s sport and should be a platform to empower women. The word empower is used a lot these days but often there isn’t clarity on what empowerment looks like. We want that to change.
Our ongoing mission is, Empowering women through our EIS platform. By providing exceptional content that is both relevant to the sport and highlights females succeeding in all aspects of life, we will INSPIRE our followers. In addition EIS has a vast network of professional relationships in a wide variety of career fields. We believe our current team and new partners (yet to be announced) can offer SUPPORT to the young women of the softball community. This can be through many different avenues such as some examples listed below:
- Allow aspiring writers to publish on our platform.
- Select EIS ambassadors; young women who want PR or Marketing experience and mentorship.
- Provide support to parents, athletes, and coaches in the ever changing, and at times, overwhelming recruiting process.Â
- Allowing parents, coaches and athletes to submit questions relevant to softball for our new Q&A column (to be announced in coming weeks)Â
- Provide a dedicated space for helping combat the ever-growing need for supporting athletes dealing with mental health issues. Â
- …and much – much more!
The possibilities are endless and we look forward to taking on a new approach to using our platform to EMPOWER, INSPIRE and SUPPORT young women and families in the softball community.

In addition to internal improvements, we are thrilled to announce that our rankings system is undergoing a significant upgrade. Our team has been diligently refining our approach to provide a more accurate, comprehensive, and insightful ranking of teams and players. This will not only serve as a valuable resource for coaches, players, and fans, but also highlight the incredible talent and dedication within the sport.Â
