Welcome back to Day 3 of Select 30 with Mac. Today we started at advanced hitting; the speaker was Delaney Spaulding. She spoke about how everyone’s swing is different, how it’s good to cool off between each at-bat, and to have a focal point to clear your mind. She also spoke a LOT about situational hitting, and situational pitches.
The next thing we did was social media training. We were introduced to the entire media team. We were split into three groups and rotated. We did interviews, selfies and gear photo shoots. I was able to do everything except the gear photo shoot because we ran out of time.
Following that, we continued our day with speed/agility. At speed/agility, we did medicine ball slams, broad jumps, run-shuffle-run (you run 5 yards, shuffle 5 yards, then run 5 more yards), band pulls against our chest, plank shoulder taps, planks, 5-10-5 and we threw a medicine ball at each other.
Afterwards, we went to “Day In The Life.” At this station, we learned about what a typical day looks like in the fall and spring. We learned about how to pick classes and schedule them. Focused on things that are also important and when we need to choose school over softball.

Continuing the day, we went to strength/conditioning. Here, we broke off into three groups. In the groups, we did band pulls, lifted a dumbbell, did planks and we did squats. When I was in the plank group, there was a 2028 graduation year player still planking, once she dropped, she had been planking for 40 minutes. In my mind, I was thinking, ‘Wow, I want to beat that, but I might not be able to.’ So I got down onto my elbows and started planking. I wanted to drop down so many times, but I didn’t. I sat in the weight room for two full rotations. I had to miss nutrition because of this. After all the girls left for lunch, I stayed in the weight room with about eight Pride players. I’ll just go ahead and skip to the good part, I was in a plank for 1 hour and 6 seconds. I won the plank contest for all age categories.
Moving to our first game, we tied, 5-5, again. My first at-bat, I had a line drive to CF, and my second at-bat, I hit a ball right behind first base. We played a good team, so good job to them and to my team. In the second game, I had one at-bat, but I hit it to RCF to the fence. I hit a triple and reached home on a throwing error. When I walked back to the dugout, all the girls were super excited and happy, I remember them all smacking my helmet. We won, 3-2. Again, we had very good competition.

I am extremely excited to continue my final day with my wonderful teammates and coaches. Tomorrow, I have my final game at 9:45 a.m. ET. If I’m lucky, I will be chosen to compete in the Select 30 All-Star game at 2:00 p.m. ET. Make sure to stay tuned to join me on my final day! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🥎🥎🥎
