Players Express Their Love & Appreciation in A “Father’s Day Tribute” (2019)

To see who our very cute baby is (was!) and her father, scroll down below…

It’s Father’s Day and nothing pleases most “softball dads” than to see their daughters out competing on the softball fields!

Be they coaches, chauffeurs, therapists, loving listeners or all of the above, fathers (or “father figures”) can play such an important role in a young person’s life and we take time to honor them today.

After the poignant player tributes to their moms/mother figures for Mother’s Day, we provide the opportunity for athletes nationwide to do the same today for Father’s Day… enjoy!

*****

I would like to honor my dad this Father’s Day to show my appreciation for all he does for me.

Kirsten Fleet and her father Brian

Ever since I started pitching when I was 8, he has spent countless hours on the bucket catching for me. He has sacrificed so much to give me the opportunities I have had. Even though he can be my biggest critic he is also my biggest fan as he wants me to be the best I can possibly be.

There is no way I could’ve been in the spot I am today without the support and efforts of my dad.

Thank you, Dad, for being the absolute best dad there is!

Sydney Supple and her father Jay

Happy Father’s Day to my Dad who has spent his day for the last how many years at a ball diamond.

The man who has willingly given every one of his days to me, my dreams, and growing me as a player/person.

Your outlook on life inspires me every day to be the hardest worker in the room and to not only meet people but get to know their stories.

You are a once in a lifetime person, friend, and Dad.

Love, your girl, Syd

Maia Wark with her father Bill

My dad means to the world to me, he constantly pushes me to become a better softball player and a better person.

With his competitive nature and loving compassion, he has been able to push me to limits that I could not reach by myself. Without my dad I would be nowhere near the point in my life I am today.

To me, my dad is a role model and a person I look up to and aspire to be.

I would just like to say thank you for the countless hours in the batting cages and even the little things like cheering me on at games.

Thank you for the constant support and most importantly thank you for being you!

Happy Father’s Day!

Dad:

Happy Father’s Day!

You are the one who got me into softball and showed me how sports are such a big part of life.

Even though I roll my eyes every time you give me the pregame speech, I couldn’t imagine playing a single game without it!

Thank you for not letting me quit when things got difficult because it’s hard to think of my life without softball in it.

I love my dad because he supports and encourages me no matter what.

He has taught me almost everything I know about life and has taught me how to be a better person throughout the years.

He has also taught me that it is okay to joke around and still do what you need to do.

Love you lots,

I’ve learned so many memorable things from you… from tying my shoes to learning how to drive. I’m still working on the driving side of things, but I know we’ll make it through it!

Thank you so much for everything you’ve done for me and my siblings, I know it doesn’t seem like it sometimes, but we’re all beyond grateful for you.

Kylie and Cami Sinai with their father Mike

Our dad is our Number 1 fan.

He puts endless hours in to help us succeed at the sport we love. After working both his jobs he still finds the time to take us to all our lessons and work with us at the park multiple times a week.

If it wasn’t for our dad, we wouldn’t be where we are today. He supports us when we have bad games and encourages us to keep working.

An example of this is a few weeks ago I struggled at my pitching lesson. I couldn’t throw a strike. I was very upset leaving my lesson and he didn’t want me to end my night that way.

He pulled his truck to the side of the road and made me get out and pitch until I ended on a positive note. It was pitch black outside and he couldn’t even see the ball.

This shows the type of father he is and how he supports us. We love our dad so much and appreciate everything he does for us.

My dad has been an important figure to me ever since he taught me to love the game (even if you fail at times).

Whenever I need someone to feed the machine, he is my go-to without a doubt. My dad is one of my biggest supporters and I definitely wouldn’t be here without him.

He has pushed me so hard to be the best I can be and more.

Madison Inscoe with her father Darryl

My dad is important to me in many ways.

He is my biggest supporter, but also my biggest critic.

He will do anything and everything for me, whether it’s sitting on a bucket in 90-degree weather, or driving 12 hours to a tournament, he is always ready to do it.

We travel everywhere together and make the best memories. There is no way I would be where I am today without him.

Dad:

Thank you for always pushing me to be the best athlete and person I could be.

Alyssa Garcia with her father Tony

I am so thankful God has blessed me with such a supportive dad that I can look up to everyday.

I will always keep your words close to heart when I move on to UCLA” “The two things you can control in softball and in life is your attitude and effort.”

Thank you for being my mentor in the batting cage and behind the plate, even when I may get stubborn at times.

Thank you for not listening to me when I was seven years old when I told you I wanted to quit softball and be a cheerleader!

I love you Pops and couldn’t thank you enough for all the things you have done for me.

Happy Father’s Day.

My dad is a police officer and for 14 years while my two older brothers and I were growing up, he worked midnights so that we didn’t have to go to daycare and as he says he “didn’t want miss our lives “ as we were growing up.

Megan Schumacher and her father Bob, a few years ago…

Midnights was the only steady shift in his department and if he didn’t work midnights he would have had to rotate between evenings and days.

My Dad often went without sleep so that he could care for me and my brothers, coach football, come to our games or, even when I was young, go to my dance recitals, gymnastics, soccer and every other activity we played.

… and how they look today!

My dad is my biggest fan and often worked extra hours (and still does) so that I can play softball, pay for training and pitching lessons and so my mom can travel and watch me play.

We still laugh about the one time he caught for me when I was 11 and he fell off the bucket (so I always had my mom catch after that! ) but he has always had my back and if it wasn’t for him I wouldn’t be who or where I am today.

I love you Dad. Thank you for being you and all you do for us!!!

I have two very special people in my life that have shaped me into the person and player I am today. Those people are my father, Joe Baptista and my father-figure and coach, Dave Lotti.

Kayla Baptista with Coach Dave Lotti.

My dad has been by my side with softball since playing tee ball in the yard when I was 4 to traveling all over the country now, 13 years later. Thank you for sacrificing so much so I am able to compete in the game we both love. I wouldn’t want pre-game/after game talks and to travel the country with anyone else! I love you!

Coach Dave has been a major father-figure throughout my softball career. He has completely inspired me to be the player I am today. He pushes me harder than I could ever imagine myself doing and helps me chase my dreams. He truly cares for me like his own daughter just as he does for everyone else on the team. Since he took me on his 18U team as a little 8th grader to now as rising senior in high school, I cannot think of a father-figure more special than Dave.

To the kings of tough-love, you both mean so much to me.

I love you guys, Happy Father’s Day!

From the fist bumps before every game, to the celebratory hugs after a big win, my dad has always been there.

Not only is he my father, but he is my coach, my Number 1 supporter, my role model, and the person who constantly reminds me that I can achieve anything I put all of my heart and mind into.

He has pushed me to be everything I am today, not only in softball but life all together. I will never be able to fully express how grateful I am.

I love you.
