Extra Star Power: 2025 Extra Elite 100 P/IF Bri Fontenot… Power At the Plate & In the Circle

Bri Fontenot has emerged as one of the top young pitcher/hitters in the 2025 class.

Brianna (or “Bri”) Fontenot will have some pretty big shoes to fill when she steps back on the softball field this spring for her Kinder (La.) High softball team.

And those shoes will be her own!

Last year, the dynamic player helped lead her prep team to the Louisiana State Tourney as she hit .500 with 19 home runs at the plate and struck out 196 hitters while compiling a 1.86 ERA.

Bri struck out 196 batters as a freshman in 2022 and helped lead her team to the State Playoffs.

Pretty good stats for a player one club coach described as “undoubtedly one of the best freshmen two-way players in the country last year.”

As mentioned in her 2025 Extra Elite bio last summer when she was ranked #13 in her class, Bri gets it done at the plate and in the circle as she is “a workhorse on the field and is the ultimate competitor who rises to the occasion when competition is at its peak. She’s a power pitcher that sits in the low 60’s and a power hitter with a great glove at third base.”

The sophomore from the Pelican State recently joined the new Strykers club program based out of Houston, Texas and will play for the 16U team.

One coach commented: “When Bri came to our organization, she was an instant hit with her teammates and several other players have mentioned they want to play on the same field as her. She is a great teammate who works extremely hard and wants to compete.”

Another travel ball coach believes “Bri has the ‘it’ factor to compete as she is mentally strong and battle tested and rises to the occasion.

Here’s more on this fast-rising two-way standout who—this month alone—has been to camps at the Univ. of South Carolina, Louisiana and Ole Miss…
