Scheduling Note: 2025 Extra Inning Softball Position Rankings To Be Released on Monday (Oct. 2, 2023)

The Class of 2025 Position Rankings will be released on Monday, Oct. 2, with the Regional Rankings to be published on Tuesday, Oct. 3.

The week after, the 2024 Extra Elite will begin being released for the final time.

In anticipation of the 2025 Position Rankings being finalized, here are the Classes of 2019 through 2028 by the position groups they were nominated for.

• Class of 2028 Position Rankings (Feb. 2023)
• Class of 2027 Position Rankings (April 2023)
• Class of 2026 Position Rankings (Jun. 2023)
• Class of 2025 Position Rankings (Jun. 2022)
• Class of 2022 Position Rankings (Nov. 2021)
• Class of 2021 Position Rankings (Nov. 2020)
• Class of 2020 Position Rankings (Nov. 2019)
• Class of 2019 Position Rankings (Oct. 2018)

Many players can take the field at multiple positions; we placed the players at the positions we feel they are mostly likely to play or were recommended to us by club and/or college coaches.

Note: we have separated the Pitcher position into two categories:

• P – Primary (the main focus is pitching)
• P – Duo (the pitcher plays another position and/or hits at a high level)

Additionally, we have broken the Infielder position into five categories because of the large number of talented players and also because their skill sets are fairly different:

• 1B (first base)
• MIF (second base and/or shortstop)
• 3B (third base)
• CIF (first base and/or third base)
• IF (can play multiple infield positions)

Other positions include:

• C (catcher… primary position)
• OF (outfield… can play left field, center field and/or right field)
• UT (utility… plays many positions as needed)
