WINCHER HEADED TO MICHIGAN STATE … EARLY

Aces Express SS Camryn Wincher, #97 in the 2020 Extra Elite 100, has had a bit of a wild ride during her senior year, which looks like it will be coming to an end ahead of schedule.

Wincher, who signed with Michigan State in November, transferred from Dobie High of Houston, TX, to Clear Brook High of Friendswood, TX, for her senior year. Dobie High claimed Wincher’s transfer was athletically motivated.

Extra Elite 100 infielder Camryn Wincher, pictured her with her father Les, when she signed on Nov. 13, 2019 with the Spartans. Less than three months later, she’ll be playing college softball as a true freshman.

“When I transferred, Dobie High School was upset and did not sign off on my transfer paperwork,” Wincher said. “Therefore I cannot play softball at me new school, Clear Brook.”

Wincher said she and her father were stunned.

“Talking to my dad, he said God had a different plan for me,” Wincher said. “He told me pray on it, so I did.”

Wincher and her father had heard of high school football players graduating early, so they could enroll at their new colleges in time for spring practices.

“Well, after speaking with my college coaches, they believe I can make an impact now and help the team now at Michigan State,” Wincher said. “I’ve trained my whole life for this, so I know I’m ready.”

Wincher said she only had one class to finish this fall, so she can graduate on Dec. 20. She enrolls at Michigan State on Jan. 6.

“I was not going to let anyone keep me from playing softball this year,” Wincher said.

TLI is glad to hear that it worked out for Camryn Wincher, so we hope the future Spartan will (Insert link in bold on ready her breakfast and eat hearty  >>>>)ready her breakfast and eat hearty …

SCIENCE UPDATE

TLI talked about Ariana Garcia, a 2025 RHP/OF for FL Firecrackers-Campo/Bias, who was representing South Sumter Middle School at the Science Fair on Tuesday in South Florida. Garcia’s science project “tested the effects voice tones can have on plant growth.”

Well, the awards are in and Garcia placed 2nd overall in the Behavioral and Social Science category. On behalf of the softball community, TLI salutes Ariana Garcia.
